On this week’s episode of the Walshy Fire hosted “Welcome To Noisey Jamaica“, the crew headed out to Portmore to meet with Producer Notnice who has been responsible for some of Vybz Kartel’s biggest hits, controversial Deejay Alkaline and even Popcaan’s mother. What do they have in common? Many would quickly answer this. Check out the video below and share your thoughts in the comments section.

NEW MUSIC: @IamTheKartel – Do Di Maths (Wah Do You?)

Standard

db28baa87ee08f20da86d1bb56b68bc7_viewTime for Summer School as today we get another lesson from “The Teacha“, Vybz Kartel. Titled “Do Di Maths (Wah Do You?)” and produced by Dunwell Productions, we hear Kartel drop lyrics about applying math when dealing with the ladies, acknowledging those who watch his every move, and cracking a few jokes along the way. It may or may not be a mystery as to how these songs keep popping up, but Vybz sure stays current and we’re not mad at that. Check out the track below and share your thoughts in the comments section.

NEW VIDEO: @OnstageTV Interviews @PopcaanMusic

PopWith his name being spread to a larger audience and a debut album on the way, Popcaan has come a long way from being a former member of Vybz Kartel’s Portmore Empire. Tonight he had a chat with Winford Williams about the things that are going on in his life. Here he spoke about his former boss’ guilty verdict and sentencing, gaining popularity overseas and his experiences, staying away from conflicts and being a big part of his family, his debut album “Where We Come From“, and his upcoming performance in Jamaica. Winford Williams also gave Popcaan some words of encouragement in the end and I also liked how he spoke about his little brother’s progress. NEW VIDEO: @OnstageTV Interviews @RynoDiStinger

RDSAfter leaving the Portmore Empire, many thought Black Ryno would’ve faded away from the Dancehall scene. In efforts to not fade away he was a part of Sting 2012 where things got ugly between he and former Gaza brethren Popcaan. In 2013 he redeemed himself on that stage by defeating Kiprich in a war of words. Since then the question has been, “What has Ryno been up to?” and he answered on Onstage. He spoke about the projects he has been working on, Sting 2012 and 2013, thoughts on the Vybz Kartel verdict and sentencing, why he left the Portmore Empire, defending his Clash title at Sting 2014, and previewed new music. Looking forward to hear more work from Black Ryno as he was one of the artists I’ve looked out from the Gaza camp.

NEW MUSIC: @IamtheKartel x @rvssianhcr – Hi

Standard

It’s saturday afternoon and you might be enjoying the weather and chilling, why not add some new Vybz Kartel to it? Titled “Hi” and produced by Rvssian, we hear Kartel making use of the word “high” and “hi” from describing the feeling he gets from marijuana to food prices. Interesting effort from Kartel as some of the lines are funny with his use of wordplay. He may be locked up but his music is free. Be sure to download it on iTunes on September 10. Check out the song below and share your thoughts in the comments section.
