.@KxngIzem Scores “Dubby’s” Win, Prepares Upcoming EP Release

Emerging Recording Artiste Kxng Izem has been consistently building his brand, and delivering a unique Reggae Fusion sound to listeners worldwide for a number of years. With a collection of singles and projects to his name, he looks to build his ever-growing catalogue in 2021, and beyond. His work hasn’t gone unnoticed however, and he recently gained some well needed recognition for it.

2021 saw the advent of the first staging of the “Dubby’s”, an online award event series held by Dubwise Jamaica, the premiere event that was an early advocate of the “Reggae Revival” movement. Co-founded by Jason Panton, the “Dubby’s” was birthed out of a need to recognize local artistes for their contributions to the Jamaican music culture. Held on February 27, Kxng Izem emerged a winner in the “New Coup Breakout Artiste Of 2020” category. Fellow nominees in the category included Leno Banton, Blvk H3ro, Runkus, Joby Jay, Wayne J, and Royal Blu. 2020 found Kxng Izem releasing the singles like “Cool and Easy”, “Brighter Days”, “Stone Love”, and “Sunday Morning”, and looks to follow up with the release of his latest EP, “Wildfire”.

A follow up to his 2019 “Many Moods Of Izem” project, the “Wildfire” EP finds Kxng Izem at his most creative and lyrical, and getting immersed into more upbeat Dancehall, Reggae, Afrobeats, and R&B sounds. Having released three singles already namely “Stone Love” with Blvk H3ro, “Big Shield”, and the title track, a collaboration with Royal Blu along with production from Harry Hunt, Ran, Chrisville, and his Ten24 Music are onboard. To up his content game, Kxng Izem has also shot music videos for each track on the EP with “Stone Love” and “Big Shield” already released and doing well on Youtube. Vartex Studio, Jus Hugh Productions, and Alt Media were recruited for the creation of the videos. Kxng Izem hopes the “Wildfire” EP will connect him with more listeners around the world, and put him in a lot more musical conversations.

Growing up in Kingston and St. Andrew, music has been a part of Kxng Izem’s life for as long as he can remember. With his strong Rastafarian beliefs ever present, he found influence from the likes of Burning Spear, Damian Marley, Protoje, and Capleton, and brought them together to shape his unique sound and skillset. With the help of friend and fellow Artiste Lucas Musiq, he got a taste of the studio life, and from there they worked together before establishing their respective careers. With the help of his older brother, he later formed Ten24 Music, and began recording, releasing music, and performing at local gigs. Kxng Izem believes that music is a form of therapy, and he can deliver the doses to anyone who is in need of them. He has released a handful of singles and two projects, and is on a mission to deliver nothing but quality music, and leave his mark in music for many to be inspired by.

Kxng Izem’s “Wildfire” EP will be available on March 26 on all digital music streaming platforms through Ten24 Music. To stay up to date with Kxng Izem, follow him on Instagram and Facebook at @Kxng.Izem, and on Twitter at @KxngIzem.
