.@TootsMaytals’ “Country Roads” Cover Featured In “Glass Onion: A @KnivesOut Mystery”!

Over the Holiday weekend, the sequel to the popular “Knives Out” Film series was released on Netflix. Titled “Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery“, the Film follows master Detective Benoit Blanc (Played by Daniel Craig) as he takes on a new case revolving around a Tech Billionaire, and his old friends. Fans of the previous “Knives Out” gave positive feedback for the new release, and with a heavy soundtrack throughout, a familiar song from a Jamaican Icon was featured.

Featured in an early part of “Glass Onion” was Toots & The Maytals’ “Take Me Home, Country Roads“. Produced by Chris Blackwell and released through Island Records in 1973, the track is a cover of John Denver’s 1971 Gold-selling hit. “Country Roads” was featured on Toots & The Maytals’ 1972 album, “Funky Kingston“. The late Toots Hibbert has had music featured in various Films and TV Shows, and numerous Commercials including a Coors Light Commercial in 2019.
