Slowing down is something that you can’t find rising Recording Artist Royal Blu doing anytime soon. While he has been making moves over recent years, 2019 has been very promising so far. Since we’ve featured him as an Artist to watch, he has been adding fuel to his “El Fuego” alias and dropping nothing but fire. While we finally got the long anticipated visual for “Meanwhile” with Leno Banton, he fed his hunger for more by popping up on various collabs, and dropping the “Style and Pattern” single and video (which boasts an all Jamaican production and raises the bar). Today, he goes up a few levels with the new track, “Hype“! Produced by longtime collaborator J.L.L. and released through Delicious Vinyl Island, Royal Blu fixes his crown and gets at naysayers who throw the term “hype” to his name as he’s more of a “hype with substance” type of person, and stays true to himself and those who know him. Many have stepped in his way to downplay his talent and determination, but frankly they’re not in his league, and he strives for quality and all that comes with it.
It’s a case of the “Damned if you do, damned if you don’t“, but Royal Blu doesn’t make much bother him as he sings to his own tune, and creates dope things. With an EP on the way to follow up his “sinG with God” project, if you didn’t know him before, now you know! With artwork provided by Ikem Smith, just stay tuned to see what else Royal Blu has rolled up his sleeve. For now, check out the track below and share with a friend.
