PRESS RELEASE: Philadelphia Jerk Festival Brings The Heat This Summer!


The Philadelphia Jerk Festival embraces its multicultural vision with the announcement of its first set of performers featuring Reggae superstar Luciano, Dancehall entertainer Agent Sasco and Barbadian Soca duo Leadpipe + Saddis. Luciano, who has released over 35 albums in his 20+ years career, joins the lyrical firestarter Agent Sasco also known as Assassin who appeared on Kendrick Lamar’s Grammy award winning album, and Leadpipe + Saddis, whose hit “Ah Feelin” is widely regarded as one of the biggest Soca hits in recent times.

Scheduled to take place at the spacious Fairmount Park in PhiladelphiaΒ Sunday, August 28th, the annual festival promises to be a full day of activities for families along with a full concert experience. “This initial artists announcement is merely an appetizer for what is to come” says the Festival’s media and production director Dave Grant, “We will be adding more acts, including an AfroBeats performer to round out the cast”.

Along with performances, patrons will have their palates tantalized with a wide range of food, desserts and beverages from vendors who will be travelling to Philadelphia from along the East Coast. Several of the regions top chefs, restaurants and food trucks will have a presence at the festival, delivering delicacies from Mother Africa to the Caribbean. Clinton Garibaldi, President of Jabari Productions added, β€œWe are pleased to be partner with supportive sponsors, including returning sponsor Western Union”.

The Tri State area has over 200,000 residents of Caribbean descent and countless others who are fans of its cuisine and culture, many of whom have already reserved tickets for what promises to be a great family outing.

BIO

Deshae Raphael was born on December 21, 1994 and is professionally known by his stage name, Bones. He is a Jamaican Contortionist born in Kingston, Jamaica and was raised at 16 White Hall Avenue, Kingston 8. Bones earned public attention after performing at Hotels, family events, and Festivals, but he gained more exposure after entering KFC’s “On The Verge” Talent Show. He has also been featured on the Jamaican Comedy Show: the Ity & Fancy Cat show, Smile Jamaica, CVM At Sunrise and also performed in several Dancehall music videos. Bones is training to become one the most flexible persons in Jamaica as he has various styles that he has developed for years.

EmergingΒ Singjay Spit Fiyah is hoping his latest song “Island Sun” will find favour amongΒ listeners.

“Island Sun” is produced by Chinchilla Music and Dre Day Production. The single was released inΒ April.Β According to Spit Fiyah, “Island Sun” has been receiving favourable reviews. He anticipates chartΒ success. Available onΒ iTunes, the Singjay said he’s been bumping up the promotions on Social Media.Β β€œI have had a fan from Alaska write to me about the song. I’ve been looking for a new soundΒ and this is really satisfying,” he said.

Spit Fiyah (given name Antroy Palmer) said he knew music was his calling.Β β€œI used to write poems and people would say they like it, so a thought came to my mind to tryΒ and write a song. I then started off Rapping, but eventually found my way back to my roots of Dancehall/Reggae,” he said.Β His other release is “Love Me Song”.
