The story features Jody, a young John Crow/Turkey Vulture who is on a journey of discovering her personality, building her confidence, and accepting who she is in the world despite what people may say. The John Crow/Jancrow is often met with displeasure by some given its nature and is often used a term to negatively describe people in Jamaica, but the bird itself is just a bird like others, and accepts itself for what it is. The new book enforces similar messages through a great story for the youth who are facing stumps in their journey. The book also features a number of activities that encourage a child’s development to be done with family and friends, and even includes a soundtrack filled with positive music.
