In a few days, Jamaica will celebrate its 62nd year of Independence. We’re just celebrating a lil early on “Oldies Sunday“. Today’s selection comes from Dancehall Artist/Producer Alozade with the track, “Jamaica“.
Produced by Cordel “Skatta” Burrell on the “Martial Arts Riddim” and released through the Kings Of Kings label in 2002, Alozade delivered his “Jamaica” track for the patriots. The track finds him highlighting some of the many things that are unique to the Island, being a proud “Yard Man” who will never trade in his citizenship, and encourages listeners to be proud of where they’re from. The “Martial Arts Riddim” gained some popularity in the 2000s, and “Jamaica” was one of the tracks that gained some attention for the Deejay. The track was also played by many during Jamaica’s Independence Day celebrations in parts of the world.
Since the release of “Jamaica”, Alozade has maintained a Music career that found him doing a lot more production, but keeping the Studio busy with single releases. “Jamaica” is still remembered and played around the world.
