Dancehall Music has made alliances with a number of genres over the years, but when it collides with Rock and Alternative Music, it’s a different ballgame. We’ve enjoyed Rock/Alt Dancehall releases from the likes of Tommy Lee Sparta, Buccaneer, Rajahwild, Splinter XL, Iron Kyte, Cyash, Black Ryno, and Nordia Mothersille, and Witty has started building his catalogue with a number of them over time. He hopped on the “Stranger Things” instrumental a few weeks ago, and with “Jacket Weather“, he has been gaining attention on Social Media for mixing his brash delivery with Rock sounds. Today, he makes it official.
Produced by Bussweh/Emelio, Witty takes his viral “Jacket Weather” to the official platforms. The original found him deejaying over The Neighbourhood’s 2012 hit single “Sweater Weather“, and it brought out the Alt kids and Rock enthusiasts on Social Media. With the official release, it opens up the door for more releases by not only him, but others who want to follow along the path (and avoid things like Copyright issues). Word on the street however, there’s an official remix for “Jacket Weather”, and we hope to premiere it soon. Time to rock out!
