Witty Rocks On With “Five Minutes”

Witty and Rock Music make for a good combo. Channeling his aggressive flow and rugged lyrics into Rock production has been paying off for him, with listeners showing their approval and support online. From hijacking beats by the likes of The Neighbourhood and Katy Perry, to bringing the Rockstar persona to our screens and in person, there have been less “Jah know Witty” comments, and questions about his star potential lately. With talks of an official project in the works, he keeps the content going with the release of, “Five Minutes“.

Produced by Budhai/ 3rd World Production, Witty gives us another look into his rockstar lifestyle on, “Five Minutes”. The subject matter doesn’t stray from the Women, money, and badness, but the energy he brings on the track continues to captivate his audience. With an accompanying music video directed by Bussweh Visuals, Witty takes it to the hills for his performance. He has found his niche, and we look forward to him taking it to another level here. Gone will be the days where they doubted his talent, and while Rock Dancehall isn’t a new thing, he looks to make it a serious thing in the 2020s. Can’t wait to hear the new album.

Jamaicans Cover Classic @TheBeatles Music In Our New Playlist

On May 8 1970, the famed British group The Beatles released their final album, “Let It Be“. Beatlemania was a huge moment in music, and has influenced generations of Musicians and Artists. Consisting of Paul McCartney, John Lennon, Ringo Starr, and George Harrison, The Beatles connected with many worldwide, including Jamaica. Competition was brewing on the Island as well, as there were Artists who believed they could take The Beatles’ place including The Zodiacs, who were once propelled to be a threat to the group in the media. Today, the music is still respected, and tributes from some of your favourite Artists have been performed and recorded. For our latest Playlist, we share the many times Jamaicans covered The Beatles.

In our new Playlist “Jamaica Sings The Beatles“, we feature the many Artists who recorded covers of some of The Beatles’ many classics. From Ernie Smith, to John Holt, to Pat Kelly, to Bob Marley, to Phyllis Dillon, to even Vybz Kartel, you’ll hear covers that you’ve either never heard before, or haven’t heard in a while. It has been 56 years since the group’s final album before splitting up, and their influence is still very strong. You’ll hear their music in different styles and vibes, from Reggae to Dancehall, from back in the day, to more recent times. Get your speakers ready for this one.

Witty Continues The Rock Dancehall Agenda With “Friday Night”

The Rock Dancehall agenda continues to grow legs, and Witty is adding to it today. Having gone viral with his own Rock-tinged Dancehall releases, we believe he should keep it up in this lane, and add to the diversity of Jamaican music. He continues to rock on with, “Friday Night“.

In a video directed by Bussweh Visuals (Xhan Shot It with the graphics), Witty brings the energy in, “Friday Night”. Borrowing Pop Star Katy Perry’sLast Friday Night“, the Deejay drops lyrics about having wild times with the ladies, partying it up, and of course all the ingredients that make up the fast life. The video features appearances by Social Media Personality Big Trap, Recording Artist Alanys OG, Jamaican Rock Musician Brother Martell, and Prince Pine (if you know the original Prince Pine & Fatskull videos, you know this appearance is a great one). For those who jeered when Witty was trying to find his footing, make sure you give him that support now, because he’s on his way to a major breakout, and with co-signs from some of the best in the business, it’s no longer farfetched.

Kickraux Takes Witty’s “Jacket Weather” To New Levels With “2.0”

Have you been enjoying Witty’sJacket Weather” on your favourite streaming platforms? Since going viral on Social Media over the past few weeks, the Artist and his team had to make things right by officially putting the track on the streams to give it even more online reach. In our feature on the track, we hinted that there might be a remix on the way. Today, you get that remix in the form of, “Jacket Weather 2.0“.

Produced by top Producer Kickraux, “Jacket Weather 2.0” gives us that extra Rock feeling and sound that we needed. We still get Witty’s aggressive delivery here, but the production behind it gave the words even more power. We get more drums, more bass, and more attitude, and we hope this opens the door to take Witty to a greater level. Kickraux knows how to bring out the best out of Artists, so we look forward to more greatness. Witty buss? He did with this one. Rock on!
