NEW MUSIC: @JYunggMusic – Sinners Prayer

“I wanna turn my life over to God but I gotta get this money first”…That statement by comedian Mike Epps was the first thought I got when I heard this J Yungg track. Titled “Sinners Prayer“, J Yungg speaks on the hardships he goes through, the demons he faces and the risks he takes to make it in life. While he endeavours the fast life, he acknowledges his wrong doing but asks God for forgiveness as he’s trying to feed his family and acquire what he needs. He may be sinning, but he’s winning and just wants to do right. Good song, this is something for the people in the struggle. I’m sure many of us can relate to this. Check out the single below, download it, and share your thoughts in the comments section.

Titled Y.O.D.O. (You Only Die Once), it’s a good mix of lyrics and a lively riddim. Produced by Kimichi Records, check it out below and send feedback in the comments section.

Artiste Spotlight: J-Yungg (@JYunggMusic)

Versatile, lyrically robust, confident yet humble are just a few words used to describe this young gunner in Dancehall music, J-Yungg.  Born Ajay Richards under the sagittarius sign on the 16th of December, 1987, J-Yungg was raised in the rural community of Grange Hill in the parish of Westmoreland, where the legendary Peter Tosh spent a significant part of his early childhood.

J-Yungg was introduced to music by his uncle, Reggae artist “Careful one”. He started performing at various shows in his community with his uncle at age 8, artistes such as Ninja Man would be in attendance of these shows.

His big break came when he linked up with legendary Guitarist Lincoln Thomas four years ago. Lincoln then introduced him to David “D-MO” Morris who has produced for Aidonia, Blak Ryno, and Spice amongst others from the House of Leeds camp. J-Yungg started his career as a rapper but then switched to Dancehall in late 2010 which has started to pay off. J-Yungg has performed on numerous shows locally and internationally including the Linkage Radio Awards in New York where he received  favourable reviews in the media for his performance. After getting rotations on local and overseas stations for songs like “Moving Up”, “Guilty Conscience”, “Nuh Boy Cyaa”, “No Gyal” and “Only Break Your Heart”, he has solidified his name as a rising star in the Dancehall/Reggae scene.

Check out his current single, the Kimichi Records produced “Only Break Your Heart” on the Phoenix Riddim below…..ENJOY!!!
