“Right now, I’d call my self.. the DICTIONARY for yaad[rap]” – 876muzik

#PayAttention returns on Saturday, January 31 at C&C South Beach, 2 Brompton Road.
Pay Attention - January 31 (Back)Without further deliberation, Gully Cash details exclusively how he intends to take the stage that very night!

Q: You’re scheduled to perform on the upcoming #PayAttention line-up, how exactly does it feel to be one of the first local rapper to hit the 2015 stage?
ATHIS! It’s seriously a great opportunity for me to showcase my talent as a solo act since Fo5ifth. So it really is a good look! I’m honored to be a part of the line-up knowing the body of work I put in since summer of last year… It really is proving that my hard-work and dedication is being acknowledged.

Q: What kind of a performance should core fans expect to see/hear on Jan. 31?

A: Well it is going to be a mind blowing experience, with an energetic performance. I, myself, will be performing songs from the ‘TrillinAyaad‘ mixtape, which core fans should know is all about the  life experiences/challenges that I have seen and been through.

Q: What’s next for 2015?
A: Currently working on my Album dropping this summer; expect a single real soon. Gully will have local AND foreign features for y’all.

Q: If you HAD to chose one single track/vid which displays Gully Ca$h, which would it be?
A: I’d have to choose this track – ‘I’m Way Too On‘. I’m  basically saying that ME, I’m doing pretty good on my side; caring less what others have to say about my life… I’m doing ME!

Q: On that note, if you feel like letting on, what puts you in the right vibe to make music?
A: The most compelling thing is just to have a clean and clear environment with ZERO negativity around. It also helps to find the right instrumental that entirely suits my style…
…Oh yeah! Not to mention – the highest grade and liquor to keep the mind at ease.

“What we’re doing is professional, it CANNOT just look like a damn hobby” – Gully

Q: If @Azaeliabanks singled you out [on twitter] because she felt that you don’t represent as a BLACK artiste, how would you respond?
A: Honest Answer… I wouldn’t respond. I’m not about that kind of controversy, especially over social media. Hip-Hop is a genre that relates to Black People’s Lifestyle and all my music speaks to the Jamaican [a predominantly BLACK] lifestyle, uptown & downtown.

Q: Why is it (from your perspective) that Hip-Hop in Jamaica isn’t yet on some worldwide renown level?

[via Andrew “Kawb” Bell]
A: Hip-Hop is not readily accepted here in Jamaica so it WILL pose challenges. I do believe it is slowly getting it’s renown here in Jamaica [underground for sure] as there are measures fully in place for Jamaican Rap artistes to be exposed ie. #PayAttentionFirst Coast. The social media infrastructure needs to have more stability, local blogs have to show that they are capable of presenting our art in a suitable, consistent manner. What we’re doing is professional, it CANNOT just look like a damn hobby.
