ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: Get To Know @RR_Musiq

Recording Artist RR aims to be seen as one of the best in the biz. With singles like “Crazy In Love” and “Dat yuh Wah” gaining popularity, many still don’t know the artist born Renee Reid. Get to know her below and share your thoughts in the comments section.

1: Who has influenced you most in the music industry?

RR: My Family and Close friends already stamped in the industry have influenced me most. Aiding me in pursuing my Dream and development as a Rising Female Songstress.

2: How did you come up with the name RR?

RR: It was easy for me as my Christian and Surname initials are RR for “Renee Reid”. A colleague of mine agreed on my Movement called “Regal Recit” Regal- Expressions and Charisma and Recit- Solo Voice.

3: If you weren’t doing music, what would you be doing?

RR: I am currently a Major Account Manager for a Telecoms Company. I juggle both careers and I am an entrepreneur. If I wasn’t doing music, I would still represent my corporate lifestyle.

4: List five words that describes RR.

RR: Regal, Sophisticated, Driven, Independent, and Trendsetter.

5: Which film(s) can you watch time and time again?

RR: Home Alone or the Keeping up with the Kardashians Series.

6: What is your favourite type of food?

RR: I am a lover of Seafood, Lobster and Shrimp dishes especially.

7: If you got the chance to collaborate with any artiste who would it be, and why?

RR: International Super Star Beyonce – As a female artiste I admire her drive her elegance her flair her style. She is an all-round performer. She brings Creative Arts to her performances and executes all in unison and leaves a lasting impression.

8: What’s the process like for you when creating music?

RR: I rest my voice for a day and periodically tailor melodies and study the Riddim. I have creative writers I work with all the time to help execute what I want in each song. Chevaughn Clayton, Macheehan, Qraig (from Voicemail), and Nicky B are the well-known writers who give vision to my creative style and chemistry. Moscato is always present while recording and cool collective vibrations to make music flow.

9: What type of influence do you want your music to have on people?

RR: I want my music to have a positive influence and leave a lifelong impression. I create music to make it very relatable for both genders and melodies being catchy and simple. I believe once you produce great music it will never be forgotten.

10: If you could wake up tomorrow in the body of someone else who would it be?

RR: I am humble and grateful for all that has been bestowed upon me thus far. I am happy and proud to say I don’t feel the need nor do I want to wake up in someone else’s body apart from my very own. Through the pain, struggles, envy, and lust I wish not be reborn again. I’d rather be ME, “Renee”.
