IceKoolio Steps Out With New Album, “Battaram Sound”

Shalam. If you’re a avid user of TikTok, you may have come across content from Recording Artist/Commentator IceKoolio. He gained fame from the singles “Weh Boy Put Inna The Chicken” and “Kum Dung Now” from a few years ago, and has since gained cosigns from prominent figures in music, built his following with more music, and shared plenty commentary on what’s happening in Jamaica, Social Media, and in the Entertainment scene. He usually starts his videos with “Shalam” followed by “Everyday above ground is a blessing and a lesson at the same time“, and occasionally requests the subject of some of his commentary to “Kum Dung Now“. While the aforementioned single continue to gain popularity, he recently released his new album, “Battaram Sound“.

Dancehall Artist Nhance has been steadily building his catalogue, and extending his fanbase. He recently graced the Reggae Sumfest stage alongside Dancehall Artist Teejay sharing a moment of unity. Fresh off of the performance, they release the video for their new collaboration called, “Tables Turn“.

Directed by WVLNTH, Nhance and Teejay focus on elevating their lives, even when people wish the worst for them on “Tables Turn”. The video finds them in various communities, and over production by Bright Nation Records, they deliver a track that will become a hit for the fans. Teejay has been enjoying a great streak of success courtesy of his hit single, “Drift“. From International stages to “Fortnite“, the Singjay looks to conquer even more. Many wanted to see them fail, but Nhance and Teejay flipped the narrative on the haters.

First off, Hurricane Beryl gave us time off that we didn’t ask for. After two weeks of no power, and barely any Internet, we’re working on being back to normal. We give thanks despite damages, and we hope those in Jamaica, and in parts of the Caribbean that got affected receive the necessary help in good time. The Summer party season continues to get hotter as Dancehall Artists stayed busy releasing new content. Elephant Man has been staying consistent, and the “Energy God Summer” is still in effect. Recently, he followed up with the official Music Video for the single, “Bad Gyal“, and it’s a party!

Directed by Shot By Ramon, Elephant Man takes it to the pool party in the video for “Bad Gyal”. Featuring a lineup of beauties (including Video Vixen ZHO), it’s a time to dance, drink up, have fun, and get a lil crazy. Ele brings the energy and fashion as usual in the visual, and the ladies show off looks, and their sex appeal throughout. A lot has been going on in times. The Caribbean is currently experiencing/preparing for Hurricane Beryl, and the people are either traumatized, confused, or stressed. Despite it all, many are giving thanks, including Dancehall legend Wayne Wonder who has a lot to be grateful for. He speaks on it in, “Lift Me Up“.

Produced by Sponge Music, Wayne Wonder gives praise to Jah in “Lift Me Up”. He had his share of bad experiences, but he gives thanks for the guidance, and being able to overcome the storms as a better man. Today (July 1) is recognized as “International Reggae Day“, and we salute the pioneers, the movers and shakers, and the talent who took this genre to every part of the world, influencing generations. One of people who made Reggae an emerging force in the beginning was the late Producer Leslie Kong. Through Kong, the career of Jimmy Cliff took off, the launch of Beverley’s Records from a small Record Shop, to a Internationally known Record Label happened, Bob Marley got to record his first single, the establishment of Chris Blackwell’s Island Records and Graeme Goodall’s short-lived Pyramid label through his early investments, and taking Reggae Music to the International market. Kong also became the Island’s leading Producer having worked with everyone from Toots and The Maytals, Desmond Dekker, and many others. Today, we salute his work with our latest Playlist, “Sampling Leslie Kong“.

For over 3 1/2 hours, “Sampling Leslie Kong” highlights some of Kong’s many hits, and the songs that sampled them. From Jimmy Cliff, to Toots and The Maytals, to Bob Marley, to Desmond Dekker, to Christina Aguilera, to Foxy Brown, to Shaggy, to Vampire Weekend, to SchoolBoy Q, to FatBoySlim, the new Playlist will entertain you, and of course educate you.
