Elephant Man Brings The Energy To “Hill & Gully” With “Hold Him Gyal”

Over the weekend, the legendary Stephen “Di Genius” McGregor premiered the first installment in his new “Hill & Gully Riddim” called, “Slip & Slide” by Masicka. The Riddim taps into Jamaica’s Folk Music and Mento culture, paying homage, while making something new at the same time. While we knew “Slip & Slide” was going to do some damage, we anticipated for Dancehall Icon Elephant Man, who hinted that he was working with Di Genius. Today, we get the premiere of, “Hold Him Gyal“.

Directed by King Simeon Di Great, Elephant Man takes it to the farmland in the video for, “Hold Him Gyal”. From Donkey riding, to overalls, to tending to the crops, we’re taken back to simpler times, but with that modern vibes, and the Women putting on their best moves, all powered by the “Energy God” and Di Genius. “Hold Him Gyal” shares inspiration from the popular Folk Song, “Hold Him Joe“, and it is fitting with the concept of the Riddim. We even got some duppy, Jonkunnu, and our traditional Plaid in the mix! The “Hill & Gully Riddim” is growing in presence, and with Valiant and Ayetian onboard, this compilation is gonna be another one for the books, and promote more of our rich culture. Ele is as busy as ever thanks to consistent bookings, and if you’re in Atlanta this May, you can catch him on the ReggaeFest Tour. Poco Man Skank to this one.

Elephant Man Stays Fresh In “Louis” For New Video

Elephant Man is an Icon when it comes to many things. From decades of hits, to setting a standard for live performances, to standing out in the fashion scene, you have to put respect on his name. For the Man who ensures you obey your image, it’s only right he stays fresh in designer drip. You can see for yourself in the video for, “Louis“.

Directed by Simeon Di Great and shot in New York, Elephant Man gets into the designer side of things in the video for, “Louis”. With his arm candy by his side, he takes a shopping trip to the Louis Vuitton store, and together they pick out a few things, while also showing off their respective OOTDs. Ele has collected a few fashion pieces over the years, and in the end, he represents himself from head to toe, and doesn’t mind taking risks. If you are his arm candy, you have to ensure you match his fly. If Virgil Abloh was still alive (or if Pharrell is paying attention), we feel Elephant Man could walk down a runway for the next line of LV fashion. Someone make it happen, and send us a LV care package and invite. The “Energy God” continues to keep the content game going while he secures bookings. Stay updated on his feeds for his next live performance, and make sure to prepare to receive his energetic sets.

Elephant Man Commands Respect In “Yah Smaddy”

Your reputation is everything, especially in Jamaica. If you come around with false stories and trickery, you will be dealt with. Dancehall Artist Elephant Man comes from a place where if you’re not an honourable person, it’s not going to be an easy life for you. From the east to the west, he shares “Yah Smaddy” for the real ones.

Done in collaboration with Damage Musiq, Elephant Man shows respect to those who set the standard, and calls out the fakes in “Yah Smaddy”. Inspired by the “Yah Smaddy” slang from Montego Bay, St. James, Ele does a roll call for all the communities in and out of Jamaica where some of the realest set of people reside, and warns the fakes of what can happen if they’re not careful. Ele brings the energy in a Music Video directed by KingSimeonDiGreat, and he’s accompanied by Dancers who helped to channel the energy throughout. Elephant Man is in his 30th year, and is still putting in the work like an upcoming Artist. For those who miss him live, stay tuned to his platforms for updates. Say yes nuh man.
