Najeeriii Reflects On His Ascension On “Cruff”

Dancehall Artist Najeeriii is on a high. The year has seen him get everything from viral moments, to seeing big numbers on Youtube, to even getting cosigned by Bounty Killa. One thing for sure, he’s looking past those who doubted him, and he continues to elevate on “Cruff”.

With WVLNTH directing the clip, Najeeriii reflects on his journey on “Cruff”. From days where some belittled him and never saw good in him, he now looks back on those while popping bottles, getting close with the ladies, and collecting his rewards. He still has a long way to go as an Artist, but things continue to look up for him. “Cruff” was produced by GodFloww and Tearsyde, and is expected to be another favourite for the fans. Be on the look out for more from Najeeriii in the coming weeks. In the meantime, someone teach Bounty the lyrics for “Panton.

Alborosie x Kabaka Pyramid "Nah Sell Out" on 13thStreetPromotions.com #Jamaica #Italy #Reggae #Music #13thStreetPromotions #KabakaPyramid #Alborosie #NahSellOut #MusicVideo #Caribbean

Alborosie & @KabakaPyramid Share Their “Nah Sell Out” Collaboration

In a world that finds many giving up morals and beliefs for fame and “the bag“, Reggae Artist Alborosie is not here for none of that. He is charged up, and ready to deliver the right message with his new single, “Nah Sell Out“.

Featuring GRAMMY-winning Artist Kabaka Pyramid, Alborosie shares on “Nah Sell Out” that the goal is to be successful and earn that money, but not at the cost of his faith and consciousness. He gets militant with Kabaka, and the track should be quick to slap you upside your head if you think you’re going to sell out for material things. The Warrior Films-directed visual finds the Artists chopping it up with their respective companions at the table, and we get flashbacks of them as kids experiencing various things in their community while trying to survive out there. Alborosie has found another hit with this single, and we expect its message to connect with the right people today. “Nah Sell Out” was featured on Alborosie’s latest album, “Destiny“.

(Speaking of chopping, we need that Kabaka x Masicka EP)

Susan Smith Provides Uplifting Messages With Children’s Book Series

The new School year is upon us, and many of our little ones are leaving homes to learn in new institutions. With the schoolbooks, uniforms, backpacks, and snacks taking their places on the list, we’d like to include something extra special to inspire them outside of the classroom courtesy of Susan Smith.

Susan Smith is a Jamaican Publicist and Author who has worked with numerous Entertainers and Institutions over the years through Powerhouse Global Media, and in recent years delved into Children’s books. On a mission to promote self confidence, the appreciation of black identity, and a positive mindset from an early age, Smith released the books, “Little Black Girl“, and “Hey Black Boy“. “Little Black Girl” was released in 2022, and it features 5 year old Kyra-Rose and her mother who share a special poem, and a series of positive affirmations that empower and uplift little Black Girls who will grow up to become positive Women and role models. Smith’s follow up book “Hey Black Boy”, follows the same formula as the previous release, and features a little boy named Malik, who helps to encourage little Black Boys to be their best selves, and be more conscious, loving, and appreciative of the skin they’re in. “Hey Black Boy” was released in the early part of Summer 2023, and along with “Little Black Girl”, received heaps of praise and positive reviews. Micah Goldsmith also provided beautiful illustrations for the books.

Little Black Girl” and “Hey Black Boy” are a part of a series that Susan Smith is working on, and she looks to follow up with her 3rd release along with supplementary workbooks and journals in 2024. She has been reaching out to the public through a series of Interviews, launches, and School visits, and looks to make a greater impact with her work in other parts of the world. In a time where confidence and love are low, help to uplift the Children today with great material from Susan Smith. “Little Black Girl” and “Hey Black Boy” are now available on Amazon.

Hugo Barrington "Loving Is A Thing" on 13thStreetPromotions.com #Jamaica #Dancehall #Music #13thStreetPromotions #HugoBarrington #LodiLodi #LovingIsAThing #KingJammys #1986 #Oldies #OldiesSunday #OldSchool #Caribbean

OLDIES SUNDAY: Hugo Barrington – Loving Is A Thing (Lodi Lodi) (1986)

Happy Oldies Sunday! In music, there are many who have enjoyed successful careers, some who have not so successful ones, and then there are those who moved on to even bigger things. Today’s selection comes from someone who enjoyed a moment in Jamaican music, but moved on to a completely different sector. Many know him as Hugh Faulkner, but music fans know him as Hugh Barrington with the track, “Loving Is A Thing” a.k.a. “Lodi Lodi”“.

Produced by King Jammy’s on the “Bandelero Riddim“, “Loving Is A Thing” was released through Jammy’s Records in 1986. Hugo Barrington brings some good vibes on the track, bringing the party to anyone who is listening (thanks to his “Lodi Lodi, we love to party” line). He shares that the style that’s presented is his own, as he switches between melodic lines, chants, and speedy deejaying. Love and unity are his messages throughout “Loving Is a Thing”, and the track was an instant hit among listeners. Barrington was also the first Artist to record on the “Bandelero” Riddim long before a certain legendary Artist created a hit with a track of the same name.

Since the release of “Loving Is a Thing”, Hugo Barrington went on to release more music before leaving the scene to enjoy a career in Law. Many moons and career role changes later, he was appointed the role of Commissioner at the Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM). He made a return to music in the early 2010s and in 2022 with a couple singles, and he made other contributions to the Jamaican entertainment scene as he was the founder of the “Professionals In Cabaret” concert series that enjoyed many years of success. Despite Hugo Faulkner’s gradual change of career and success, many still remember him as Hugo Barrington and his classic single.

Thank You Hugo Barrington For this Classic!

Jahmiel Keeps His “Circle Small”

In life, we experience different sides of people. When we experience the bad sides, we separate ourselves from them, and focus on connections that are important and genuine. Jahmiel has dealt with those types of people already, and is focused on keeping his “Circle Small“.

In the Damaniac Visualz-directed clip, Jahmiel seeks to separate the real from the fake in his life on “Circle Small”. He continues to build his life where there’s more success, love, and good things. The video shows Jahmiel sharing a table with many people, and one by one they leave their seat, symbolizing that at the end of the day, you only have yourself. The world is filled with cruel people, just have to know how to move among them. “Circle Small” was produced by YGF Records, 23 Recordz, Momentum Records, and Patriotz Muzik.
