Prince Saj Takes Gospel Music In A Fun New Direction With “God With Us”

When it comes to Gospel Music, it has birthed a number of people who have played vital roles in bringing their audience closer to Christ. There have been numerous iterations of the Gospel sound, and they have each won over their audiences, and strengthened the genre. In Jamaica, the Gospel sound expanded to Reggae and Dancehall, with some acts taking it to higher levels, but its reception met negative pushback by many in the Church as they prefer the “old fashioned” style of the music. Enter Saja Smith a.k.a. Prince Saj, an award-winning Gospel Artist who believes in bringing people closer to God by utilizing the sound the Lord permits him to use. He is the founder of the “Fully Jesus” movement, and has been steadily spreading the Gospel with numerous singles over the years. He believes in impacting the nation with a refreshing, vibrant sound which is available for all with the single, “God With Us”.

Produced by DaJourney, “God With Us” is Prince Saj’s way of spreading the truth to the world. Saj’s image is not one that readily identifies him as a Christian to some, but God speaks through him, and it’s emphasized with this song. Many tend to believe that dressing up in suits, fancy hats and dresses make for the right attire for the Churchgoer, but the song shares that it’s not about what you present yourself in that makes you a Christian, it’s about your intentions, belief in the word, and actions. The song is readily available for people of all ages, and tastes, and highlights an individual who takes God everywhere he goes and is quick with the word of God. With a rapid delivery, the usage of modern production that’s inspired by Afrobeats and Dancehall, and solid lyrics, “God With Us” has been enjoying positive release since its release. The song was featured on his 2023 award-winning debut EP “Conquest”, and has been going viral on Social Media recently. A Music Video is in the works for “God With Us”, and plans take the single to more territories in the coming weeks. Prince Saj continues to use his platform keep the Gospel prominent on Social Media, and not only win over new listeners, but new souls for Christ.

Prince Saj has been on the Gospel Music scene for a number of years. With a more modern take on the genre, he allows God to use him as a vessel to spread positive messages. He is the recipient of a Sterling Award for “EP of the Year” with “Conquest”, started the “Fully Jesus” movement in the Caribbean and parts of the world, his music has received cosigns from many in the Gospel fraternity, has performed at a number of prominent Gospel events, and the music has been highlighted by the likes of popular Twitch Streamer Kai Cenat, and former NBA Player/Media Personality Shaquille O’Neal. Prince Saj ushers in a new wave of Christian music, and he invites everyone to join in and spread the Gospel.

Christmas time is upon us yet again, and we look forward to what’s in store. As usual, we have to put you on to some holiday music, and on “Oldies Sunday“, have some classics. Today’s selection comes from the Island of Grenada. We feature Recording Artist Ajamu’s track, “Ah Want A Little Something“.

Produced by Edson Mitchell a.k.a. Ajamu and released through Charlie’s Records in 2001, Ajamu gave the people another in his line of Christmas music with, “Ah Want A Little Something”. The song finds him making a couple requests for his fans. He has been known to deliver a song for the holidays yearly, and while he does it for the people, he’d love for them to give back to him for the season. He delivers musical gifts, but wishes for a gift or few himself. He kindly asks throughout the song, and hopes it won’t cause any problems after. “Ah Want A Little Something” was featured on his 2001 album, “Christmas Soca Parang“, and is one of his signature Parang hits.

Ring In The Holidays With Circa Eleven & The “Peppa Lights” Project

December we’re here, and that means Christmas is around the corner. There will be plenty to be festive about, including new music! Production duo Circa Eleven are getting involved in the festivities this time around, and they have a new EP for the holidays. It’s time to update your holiday playlists with the new “Peppa Lights” EP.

Featuring 3 tracks, the lineup of Recording Artists Gio Mar (son of Wayne Marshall), Jay YGT, and Rizk are celebrating a “Dancehall Christmas” with Circa Eleven on “Peppa Lights, Vol. 1“. What started out as a conversation during a TikTok live about the need for some Dancehall-themed Christmas music this past November, quickly turned into a series of recordings from a number of Artists. When approaching the creation of the EP, Circa wanted to pay tribute to classic Christmas music on the production while the Artists shared their own prospectives when it came to Christmas music. On “First Christmas“, Gio Mar shared his need for his special person for the holidays, on “Holiday Time“, Jay YGT sought to rekindle some lost love for the season, while Rizk was in a festive mood as he parties away on “Jolly Dolly“. 1SkiMask Scores 1st International Record Deal With @Epic_Records

Dancehall Artist 1SkiMask is a great example of breaking limitations, and staying dedicated to your creativity to achieve success. The alter ego of Social Media Personality/Influencer/Actor Valdomore came at a time when the music scene chased specific trends, and the character stood out in a flock of emerging and upcoming acts in the early 2020s. He made his debut with the single, “Dawkniss”, and presented a character that would enjoy viral success, consistent bookings, and a strong presence on Social Media, and on streaming platforms. The hard work has been paying off, and recently, 1SkiMask set his sights on the International stage by signing to the renowned Epic Records.

In a joint venture with Against Da Grain Entertainment (ADG Ent.), Epic Records is the new home for the talents of 1SkiMask, making this his first International deal. The signing was made possible by Tyshawn “Fly Ty” Johnson, ADG founder and VP of A&R at Epic, who believes in talent that stands out from the crowd, and have created their own movements. Johnson was the man behind the signing of US-based Dancehall Artist Tina (F.k.a. Hood Celebrityy), who would go on to enjoy platinum success. “I was never one to stay boxed in, and it showed in the people I have worked with,” shared Johnson. “My love for the Jamaican music and culture brought me my first major signing in Tina who would go on to do very well, and everything has now come full circle with me signing 1SkiMask, a prominent name in Jamaican music. He’s a talent that I believe will take his career to another level, and this deal will make it happen. I look forward to guiding him on the road to greater success.” Epic Records was the home of GRAMMY-winning Dancehall Artist Shabba Ranks in the 1990s along with Lady Patra, and earlier this year welcomed prominent Dancehall Artist Valiant.

1SkiMask is poised to become to next big name out of the ADG Ent./Epic Records camp, bringing his unique personality and image, and witty songwriting from Jamaica to the International scene, and create even more good opportunities for his career. SkiMask joins the number of Jamaican Artists who have secured International record deals within the past few years, and is ready to make a bigger impact. His debut single for Epic/ADG Ent. is in its final stage of completion, and will go public in the coming weeks. 1SkiMask released a number of singles in 2024 which include “Energy”, “Love A Nuh My Thing”, and “Life Of A G”. Dancehall Artist Devin Di Dakta has been one of those Artists who spoke his mind. When he takes podium, he speaks on people and situations that are sure to ruffle feathers. He has engaged in numerous conflicts because of his words, but they didn’t deter him. On his new single “Truth Hurts“, he’s not backing down.

Produced by Qvarismatik, Devin Di Dakta gets harsh and direct in “Truth Hurts”. He addresses the nation, and puts the spotlight on individuals who have contributed to the downfall of society, calling out any and everyone who played their part in the harshest way possible. No one is safe on this track, and Devin’s care meter has gone dry as he steps on corns, toes, necks, and hearts. He speaks on the realities of the world, and exposes many who were supposed to do the right things, and play positive role models. Those who support the individuals mentioned are not spared either, and Devin gets loud on them with no fear. Will “Truth Hurts” cause a rise of more truth music? Only time will tell.
