Noisey Jamaica today venutred into the female side of Dancehall Music. Here Codine Williams interviewed popular deejays Spice and Tifa before their rehearsals for Reggae Sumfest. Here Tifa spoke about feuds in Dancehall music, getting a break in the industry as a female artist, and backlash from fellow artists and fans. Spice spoke about her upbringing, her biggest hit “Ramping Shop” with Vybz Kartel, showing support for Vybz Kartel, being compared to Lil Kim with her raunchy lyrics, and Jamaicans being creative with slangs and dances. We also see Spice dancing with her backup dancers and how she interacts with them. I like that their music was featured in these interviews, just wished it was longer.
