.@ItsTheTifa Has Some Words For The “Internet Bad Gyal”

Dancehall Artist Tifa has come a long way. From being a fresh face in the 2000s, she now sits with the vets in music, and is still putting in work. There were talks of retirement years ago, but when you love the music, there’s no quitting. Tifa has been on before Social Media, and has embraced the platform since day one. However, Social Media has made way for the type of people who aim to bring others down. Many live in anonymity, but Tifa is ready for them. She has a few words for them in, “Internet Bad Gyal“.

Produced by Troyton Music on the “Bad Sling Riddim” that pays homage to the “Sleng Teng Riddim“, Tifa is locked and loaded for the keyboard warriors in, “Internet Bad Gyal”. Being on the scene for a long time can bring around a lot of negativity along with the support system, it’s up to the individual to handle it in the best way possible. While Tifa won’t show at the front door, her lyrics serve as warnings for those who think they can go further than the comment section with her. She may be sweet and easy to get along with, but do not take Tifa for a softie. Keyboard warriors aside, Tifa continues to let her pen work, and keeps her skills sharp in the Studio. You can catch her live at an event this Summer, but if you bring bad intentions, stay home before you regret it.

Ahead Of Upcoming Album, IWaata Links Up With @Aidonia4thGenna On “Never Basic”

Dancehall has always been a hub for the lyrical ones. That’s not to say other genres don’t boast some lyrical powerhouses, but it’s something special with Dancehall. The decades have welcomed plenty Artists, and there are some who believe in testing the abilities of their peers. Dancehall Artist IWaata has been hailed as one of top lyricists in recent years, and he shows out when needed. Before the release of his new album “Underrated“, he drops, “Never Basic“.

Produced by Troyton Music and featuring Dancehall Artist Aidonia, IWaata goes bar for bar with this Dancehall Icon in, “Never Basic”. The Deejays hold their own over solid production that samples the classic “Sleng Teng Riddim“. Aidonia, who recently celebrated 20 years in Dancehall, is potent as ever, and we get a song that shows love to two different generations of Lyricists. While this track isn’t their most lyrical, we look forward to them doing even more music together. As IWaata gears up for the release of his album, expect even more music in the coming days. Tune in to this one.

The Tiger & The Buffalo Meta Commercial for 13thStreetPromotions.com #Meta

“Under Mi Sleng Teng” Sampled “Way In My Brain” Featured In New @Meta Commercial!

Recently, the company behind Social Media platform Facebook changed its name to Meta as a way to promote better online experiences, and change the way you see Social Media. While the platform has been a part of numerous controversies, only time will tell how things will turn out. As a part of Meta’s rollout, a series of promotional spots have been launched. For one of their latest Commercials, a sound from the home of Dancehall and Reggae has been easily identified.

In Meta’s latest Commercial called “The Tiger & The Buffalo“, the 1991 Electronic/Dance/Rave track “Way In My Brain” by Breakbeat Hardcore group SL2 was used for the soundtrack. Produced by Slipmatt & Lime and released through XL Recordings, the UK single sampled the Jamaican classic, “Under Mi Sleng Teng“. “Under Mi Sleng Teng” was done by Wayne Smith in 1984 (released in 1985), and produced by King Jammys on the “Sleng Teng Riddim“, which was considered one of the fully computerized Riddims. The “Sleng Teng Riddim” is also one of the most influential Riddims, giving birth to many versions, and producing many great Artists in the process.
