Rie Osei is a legend in the making. The Ghana/Chicago-based Recording Artist has been cruising in top gear with her music over the past couple years. From growing her streaming numbers and fanbase, to connecting with some of the biggest names in Afrobeats, she’s setting herself up to be a name for many to remember. With a year that found doing necessary things to further build her career, she steps into the closing parts of 2025 with, “Problem“.

Produced by Jhinzo and Sarmyfire, Rie Osei is owning her moment, and might be too much for those in her way in, “Problem”. Armed with Amapiano/Afrofusion sounds, she delivers something that will put some bounce in our systems, while reeling us in with her vocals that  will stay in your head for a long time. She has been building her catalogue, and with the energy she shared throughout this year, she will bring it a more levels in 2026. No matter what’s happening in the world, music will be the thing that helps to keep us going. Rie Osei is a good problem to have.

The Island of Dominica is on a run this year with the release of a number of Bouyon singles. With more people tapped in, we even have Dancehall Artists joining in on a number of releases. For Recording Artist Rudy Ru$h, he’s contributing to the takeover for the upcoming year with the release of, “Anywhere We Go“.

Released through OffDaBloc Records, Rudy Ru$h sends a positive charge to the world with the release of, “Anywhere We Go”. Listeners will feel the energy throughout as Ru$h promotes unity, continued Caribbean musical dominance, freedom, and reminds us that the people are the vibe. Ru$h sets the stage for 2026 Carnival season, and once there are more energetic releases like “Anywhere We Go”, it will be a season for the books. For those unfamiliar, Rudy Ru$h is a US/Dominica-based Recording Artist who has dabbled in not only Bouyon, but Soca, AfroFusion, Hip Hop, Reggae, and Dancehall. He has collaborated with the likes of Capella Grey, Junior Reid, Spice, Mavado, and Faith Evans, and he continues to expand on his sound. We Survived Hurricane Melissa!

As the title says, we survived Hurricane Melissa! October 2025 will be a month to remember as we’ve been on Hurricane Watch for a good part of the month, till Hurricane Melissa’s Category 5 ascension on the Island, and the aftermath that we’re currently dealing with. While this is not your typical post from us, we give thanks on behalf of many who have lived to tell the tale in not only Jamaica, but The Bahamas, Cuba, Hispaniola (Haiti/Dominican Republic), Turks & Caicos, and Bermuda, and we mourn those who passed away due to the event. The week before and after October 28, 2025 hasn’t been smooth sailing.

We are thankful for those who have been making efforts in the recovery process. Jamaicans locally and abroad have been rallying for help in cash and kind to support those who have suffered losses, and rebuild. We ask that you lend your support to the likes of SupportJamaica.gov.jm, and initiatives by the likes of X Users @BrayForJade, Jodi of WheresTheFoodJo’s “Cups Up“, Emma, @JsCallMeTee, Better Help, and many more. As power and certain resources are still major things in various parts of Jamaica, we’re also trying to help out a few families/individuals in our communities with necessities including Power Banks, Power Stations, Water, and even Supermarket Vouchers so they can secure a few items. If you haven’t heard the news, Hurricane Melissa is upon us. For those in Jamaica, Haiti/Dominican Republic, Cuba, and surrounding areas/Islands, we urge you to please be safe. While we try to secure our belongings and sanity, we play music. How about something from “Oldies Sunday“? Today, we go back to the 70s to check out Ray I’s “Weatherman Skank“.

Produced by Carlton Patterson on the “Weatherman Skank Riddim“, and released through the Black & White Label in 1977, Ray I brings us the forecast for today, and everyday in, “Weatherman Skank”. Over some energetic production, Ray I gets busy with the deejaying throughout, giving Weather updates, and handling the Riddim with ease. The “Weatherman Skank Riddim” was a popular Riddim back in the day, and Ray I’s single was not only popular, but was just one of many releases that took control of the scene with the Artists grasping your attention with their crowd-gathering lyrics and flow. The popularity of the single also earned him the nickname, “Weather Man“.

Since the release of “Weatherman Skank”, Ray I would release a number of singles and a couple albums over the years. He was active some time in the early 2020s, but not much has been heard about him since. “Weatherman Skank” is still played in parts of the world. Stay safe, stay dry.
