Emerging Jamaican Recording Artist Blvk H3ro has been enjoying a 2021 filled with a plethora of new releases. The Artist has been gaining a massive buzz thanks to the single, “It Nuh Easy”, which has since become a staple on radio since its release earlier this year. Despite the pandemic, he has found a way to give the people new music, and new content. What was missing however, was being a part of the live performance aspect. That all changed as he’s currently making his rounds in Europe!
As a part of the UNESCO Transcultura Programme Call selection, Blvk H3ro and his Reggae Soul Band were invited to the Worldwide Music Expo, also known as WOMEX. The event is held in Porto, Portugal from October 27-31, and Blvk H3ro and the Reggae Soul Bad are some of the Artists representing the Caribbean this year which also includes Cuban Artist Cimafunk, Cuban Musician Yarima Blanco, and Haitian/Dominican Band AZUEI. Blvk H3ro has held his own through a series of performances at the event, sharing via Social Media that he is grateful for the opportunity to put Jamaican music on display in Europe.

“It’s an amazing honor to be recognized for the hard work we put into being ambassadors for our music and our culture. We are very excited to share our talents with the world to see!” Shared Blvk H3ro in a recent release from UNESCO. “Womex will be a great platform for me to showcase my talents for the world to see. After being on lock down for 18 months Reggae artists like myself have not been able to visit and/or perform for our fans in Europe. Womex would be the first time I’d be on European soil in over 3 years and will certainly be a memorable occasion performing with my full band for the first time in many years.” He continued.
WOMEX is the most international and culturally diverse music meeting in the world, and the biggest conference of the global music scene, featuring a trade fair, talks, films and showcase concerts. Each year, over 2500 people from around the globe attend the conference. The UNESCO Transcultura Programme seeks to deepen integration between Cuba, the Caribbean and the European Union. It aims to harness diversity and build bridges between people and cultures from different linguistic areas. The Programme is implemented with a financial support provided by the European Union.
