After finding his footing and creating music that have been mainstays in the playlists of many in recent years, Recording Artist Khxos continues his mission with the release of his latest EP, “Melanin“. Following up to his 2018 debut album “Dopamine“, Khxos doesn’t change much in the formula, but ensures that there’s an anthem or fave for everyone. Featuring 6 tracks, Khxos hopes this project will make an even greater impact on the scene as each track promotes and celebrates that “melanin love“. With contributions from Blvk H3ro, Konshens, Zagga, Kim Gebriel, Royal Blu, and Dehshh, this EP promises high replay value. Check out the EP below, and share with a friend. Blvk H3ro has been toiling hard over these past few years to get here. With numerous singles, projects, and stage performances, he finally releases his debut album, “The Immortal Steppa“. Released through DubShot Records/BHM, we get 14 tracks that aims to capture the world’s attention. With production from Dennis “Greatest” Hamilton, The Grei Show, Kris Karz, Palace Pikney, SNR, JLL, BoomDraw, Kone, Wavy Jones, Bastido, Alexandre Hostein, and Guerilla Music Productions, Blvk gets assistance for his lyrics that’ll have you thinking, moving, and enjoying yourself. With influences from Stevie Wonder (whose “Superstition” track he covers), Michael Jackson (he sampled on “M.A.R.Y.“), Marijuana, and Rastafari, Blvk called in IOTOSH, Leno Banton, and Royal Blu to join in on the exhibition of great music. For those thinking that the project would completely have all new music, the favourites “H3rb“, “M.A.R.Y.“, and “SkyDive” off “The H3rb Connoisseur” were added. Congratulations to Blvk H3ro on reaching this far in his career. Artwork by Richard Nattoo, check out the project below, and share with a friend. As 2018 comes to a close, we look back at a few songs that were favourites on the Blog for the year. While we can’t name EVERY one, we’ll give you 10 (in no particular order so hold off on the ego) to reminisce on, or get familiar with.
This next track promotes “All Black Everything“, including the appearance of the Saviour. Recording Artists Leno Banton, Blvk H3ro, and The Grei Show teamed up to speak about “Black Jesus“. Produced by SNR Beats, they each shared their own interpretation of Jesus Christ as they seek to be closer to him, and learn his teachings. This one may have opened up a few conversations. Have a sweet tooth? Need a sugar rush? Then we’re here to deliver you the goods to fix the cravings. After travelling far and near, we finally get the visual for Naomi Cowan’s super catchy single, “Paradise Plum“! Directed by Kia Moses and shot on Fleet Street and Life Yard in Kingston, Naomi hops on her funky Bicycle and cruises through the street and sprinkles that lovely song for everyone to hear. You can catch a few familiar faces along her journey like Black H3ro, Osunya Rose, Lindsey Lodenquai, and be treated to some pieces of Fashion from Tia Clothes Girl, YC, and Those Creative People. Since the first time we heard this Teflon Zincfence produced track, we knew it would’ve been a hit, and give us a few cavities. Get yourself a “Hot Gyal” fan after watching this hot video. Corporate Jamaica, it’s not too late to get this song in your campaigns. If you’re new to Naomi, we featured her as one of the female Artists you should have on your radar this year. On August 18, we checked out “Light Speed w/ Leno Banton” at Hope Gardens, St. Andrew. With a 2 PM start, we were greeted by a Guitar strumming Leno Banton and joined some of his friends who included Recording Artists Blvk H3ro and Sheenworks, Cultural Brand Strategist Habibi Bailey of Wengi Kofia, Photographer/Artist Jeana Lindo, DJ Josh Era, Artist Khari Kamau, and more. If you were there, you’d be treated to music, water, snacks, good vibes, a generous amount of Herb, and a lot of great conversation. If you missed it, we have some pictures, and a lil video to show you what’s up. We hope Leno continues with more events like this. Bless up!
