Have a sweet tooth? Need a sugar rush? Then we’re here to deliver you the goods to fix the cravings. After travelling far and near, we finally get the visual for Naomi Cowan’s super catchy single, “Paradise Plum“! Directed by Kia Moses and shot on Fleet Street and Life Yard in Kingston, Naomi hops on her funky Bicycle and cruises through the street and sprinkles that lovely song for everyone to hear. You can catch a few familiar faces along her journey like Black H3ro, Osunya Rose, Lindsey Lodenquai, and be treated to some pieces of Fashion from Tia Clothes Girl, YC, and Those Creative People. Since the first time we heard this Teflon Zincfence produced track, we knew it would’ve been a hit, and give us a few cavities. Get yourself a “Hot Gyal” fan after watching this hot video. Corporate Jamaica, it’s not too late to get this song in your campaigns. If you’re new to Naomi, we featured her as one of the female Artists you should have on your radar this year. On August 18, we checked out “Light Speed w/ Leno Banton” at Hope Gardens, St. Andrew. With a 2 PM start, we were greeted by a Guitar strumming Leno Banton and joined some of his friends who included Recording Artists Blvk H3ro and Sheenworks, Cultural Brand Strategist Habibi Bailey of Wengi Kofia, Photographer/Artist Jeana Lindo, DJ Josh Era, Artist Khari Kamau, and more. If you were there, you’d be treated to music, water, snacks, good vibes, a generous amount of Herb, and a lot of great conversation. If you missed it, we have some pictures, and a lil video to show you what’s up. We hope Leno continues with more events like this. Bless up! The skin colour has been a topic of discussion among many for centuries but is Jesus Christ black, or white? Many sects of Christianity have pictured the Messiah as a black man complete with an afro, while others recognize a blue eyed, long flowing hair white individual. Today, the trio of Leno Banton, Blvk H3ro, and The Grei Show say “everything black” in their new track, “Black Jesus“. Produced by SNR Beats, the Artists speak on their interpretation of the physical appearance of GOD’s son, and their desire to follow and learn from him. Expect this one to make some noise, stay woke! The debates will continue, but the interpretations are up to you. Artwork by Paige Zxmbie! Check out the track below, and follow us on Instagram at @13thStreetPromo.
Before there was a “Blvk H3ro” and the locks, there was Hervin Bailey Jr., and today we go back in time with our new series, “Quick Throwback“! Looking back into H3ro’s first recorded release, “Live This Life“, this was produced by Leon-Pierre Answer for Mhadboxx Productions and released in 2014 (While it was written well before that). In the song he speaks on being fed up from not always having it, working hard for nothing, dreams, his experience with the 9 to 5 life, and shares encouragement throughout to those who are going through it. For those who are new to the Artist, you can hear him developing his signature sound here. The journey may be rough, but it takes a lot to get where you need to be. Stay tuned for another throwback next week. Check out the track below, and follow us on Instagram at @13thStreetPromo.
First off, we’ve made it into the month of March! May the new month bring new opportunities, and infinite blessings. Women’s Month and International Women’s Day are observed here, and we have Recording Artist Blvk H3ro to kick things off. With his debut Album pending for a 2018 release, he dedicates the second single to the Matriarch in “Mama“. Produced by Bastian Ka, with assistance from Lorenzo “Lance” West and mixed by Johnoye “Shotta Biggs” Bucknor, H3ro rides a Guitar led production that finds him playing out a conversation with his Mother. Described as the “Divine Feminine“, Blvk goes on to shower her with praises for being there for him, all while updating her on the many happenings in his life. With his signature delivery and a smooth Instrumental, let this be the soundtrack for your next heart to heart with the #1 Woman in your life. Be on the look out for more from Blvk H3ro as he puts the finishing touches to “The Immortal Steppa“. Have a listen below.
