The 2020s introduced Jamaica to a wave of new acts, and Dancehall Artist Najeeriii was a part of the pack to made bold steps. Armed with unorthodox flow and lyrics, the Deejay quickly earned his fame and secured a fast-growing fanbase. Controversy came his way as well, but the catalogue kept growing. He also had a few missteps, but he managed to maintain a presence. Before 2025 comes to an end, he had one task to complete, and that’s to release his debut album, “Book Of Bob“.

Featuring 12 tracks, Najeeriii starts a new chapter in his career with his debut album, “Book Of Bob”. The album stands as a product of the young Deejay’s hard work since his debut single, and opens up a lane for him to elevate. Like previous releases, he has something for the ladies, taps into the fast lifestyle, conjures music for the parties, and showcases his style that continues to stand out. Production on “Book Of Bob” include the likes of MXSSIVH, Franc White, Dan Sky, Yo Christon, DethWrld, YC Studios, and KP, while Govana, Popcaan, Tarrus Riley, Bayka, Skillibeng, and Yung Bredda join him throughout. Najeeri Smart has come a long way from creating songs in High School, and is ready to take major steps on the global stage.

For a number of years, Jamaican-born/LA-based Producer Dale Virgo has provided the sound for many of your favourite Artists. Under his DZL Records, he has produced hits for the likes of Christopher Martin, Ce’Cile, Chronixx, and many others. Having taken his talents to the US in recent time, he has been experimenting with new sounds, and for his latest release, “Sunset Blvd“, he looks to capture the high energy crowd.

Dale Virgo leans into the EDM/House Music sound for his latest release, “Sunset Blvd”. Armed with Bass, Synths, Sonics, and great energy, Virgo is ready for the ravers, the party goers, and those who live life to the fullest with this new Instrumental. Inspired by living in the Los Angeles area, he has witnessed all walk of life, and looked to bring the energy from that to his production. He was also encouraged by fellow Producer/DJ Sizzle Hop to test his waters in new sounds, and the move looks to be a very fruitful one for him. Family is very important to Virgo, and while he knows his way around the boards, his Son Zayn, and Daughter Zahara had input on the production, and share co-production credits. We expect the Streamers to love this one, the Ravers worldwide to groove to this, and the world to open even more doors for Virgo to pursue even more.

Not many know that he’s a Recording Artist who goes by the name “Au6us” outside of the content, and has been active for quite some time. On the track produced by GBM Production and Anson Pro, Nailah Blackman and GBM Nutron are living it up and misbehaving on the road in their new collab, “Tay Lay Lay”. With an accompanying Music Video directed by Precise Lee Films and Anson, we get a little bit of glitchy futuristic vibes throughout, with the two Artists bringing their tune to life. “Tay Lay Lay” is expected to do some damage in the streets, and we can expect the people to keep it rotation at home, in the car, and at all the parties and Soca-related functions. Rainy days, don’t you just love them? While we’d prefer to be home and under a proper roof when the rain is falling, not all of us are fans. However, lots of exciting things can happen when you have someone special during the rain. Aidonia knows about those times well, and on “Pit A Pat“, he shares his experiences with the ladies.

Produced by Di Genius, Aidonia speaks on how wild the ladies get when it’s raining on, “Pit A Pat”. With a Music Video directed by Shane Creative, the Deejay is having some good times with a few ladies (including emerging Video Vixen Zho) who ooze sex appeal, and know how to take charge when needed. Aidonia and Di Genius continue to make great music together, and at this point we need a complete project with just these two. The Deejay has been having a blast this past summer, and for the rest of the year we expect him to take “Pit A Pat”, and some of his classics to more International stages. It’s that time of year again, it’s “Hispanic Heritage Month” on “Oldies Sunday“! Hispanic Americans continue to make significant contributions to entertainment, sports, and pop culture, and we have highlighted a number of them. Today’s selection comes from Puerto Rico via Ricky Martin’s “María“.

Produced by KC Porter, Tom Vickers, and Steve Berkowitz and released through Columbia/Sony Music Mexico in 1995, Ricky Martin had his eyes set on a lovely, but dangerous Woman named, “María”. Inspired by the sounds of Mariachi from Mexico and how proud the people are of their heritage, Martin created a Spanish Language song that incorporated Flamenco, Dance, and Salsa, paying homage to the Latin sounds that were prevalent in Puerto Rico. The original version of “María” had a slower tempo, and was met with resistance from his label to release it. It soon became a public release after much back and forth, and was included on his 3rd studio album, “A Medio Vivir“.

“María” enjoyed great reception, becoming Ricky Martin’s breakout International single, but things took a turn for something epic when Puerto Rican DJ Pablo Flores remixed the song. Increasing the tempo and adding extra production, the “Spanglish Remix” of “María” took the world by storm, became a Samba megahit, and helped to launch the advent of Latin and Dance music crossovers. The original and remixed version enjoyed top placements on charts globally, but the remix went on to set a record for becoming the biggest Latin hit as it went on to sell over 5 Million records, and secured spots in the greatest Latin music releases of all time lists.

Since the release of “María”, Ricky Martin went on to become a Latin Music phenomenon, producing multiple hits, and becoming an Icon in the 90s and 2000s. He was a former member of the Puerto Rican Boy Band Menudo, but his solo career fared much better, as he became the face of the “Latin Pop explosion” in the 1990s, and one of the best-selling Artists of all time. He also ventured into acting with stints in TV shows and Broadway plays, but is still very active in music. “María” continues to secure its place in Pop Culture. Wepa!
