With many falling by the wayside, the Deejay has managed to stay afloat with new music that connects with new and old listeners, and consistent bookings that finds him bringing his energy to different territories. 30 years is a huge feat, and he’s still making great things happen. He makes the people dance, and the mission is not over. He steps out with the new project, the “Dancing To The Max” EP.

Dancehall Songstress Shaneil Muir has come a long way in her career. The Singer has enjoyed highs, and has experienced some lows, but she’s still present with a gift that she shares with the world often. She has secured a number of hits in her catalogue, with some becoming classics. This time around, the “Top Gyal” steps up with something special, and that’s her new EP, “Echoes Of Her“.

Featuring 7 tracks, Shaneil Muir gives us a little more of her with her new “Echoes Of Her” EP. She taps into love and love situations, the good times with her person, the trying times, and she puts them all together in a package that will be on repeat. The project was done in collaboration with Damage Musiq, and features an appearance by Chronic Law. Dancehall Artist Shaneil Muir has some big business to attend to this year. Come this April, she will be releasing her new EP, “Echoes Of Her“. The project will find her tapping into her emotions, reflecting on past situations, but presenting herself as a Woman who has overcome, and will be stronger than ever. Ahead of the EP’s release, she readies everyone with the new single, “Secured“.

Produced by Damage Musiq, Shaneil Muir is all about leveling up, and being independent on “Secured”. No matter what situation she has exited out of, she’ll ensure that she’s fulfilling her mission of making her life better, and not having anyone nor anything bring her down. Elephant Man Commands Respect In “Yah Smaddy”

Your reputation is everything, especially in Jamaica. If you come around with false stories and trickery, you will be dealt with. Dancehall Artist Elephant Man comes from a place where if you’re not an honourable person, it’s not going to be an easy life for you. From the east to the west, he shares “Yah Smaddy” for the real ones.

Done in collaboration with Damage Musiq, Elephant Man shows respect to those who set the standard, and calls out the fakes in “Yah Smaddy”. Inspired by the “Yah Smaddy” slang from Montego Bay, St. James, Ele does a roll call for all the communities in and out of Jamaica where some of the realest set of people reside, and warns the fakes of what can happen if they’re not careful. Ele brings the energy in a Music Video directed by KingSimeonDiGreat, and he’s accompanied by Dancers who helped to channel the energy throughout. Dancehall Music has always been a place where different minds step forth to share stories, share experiences, and promote various messages. While the messages are either good or bad, there is an audience for either of them. Over the years, the genre has welcomed an abundance of acts who have chosen to promote lifestyles that aren’t ethical through their lyrical content. Some promote criminal activities, others promote lifestyles that go against the upbringing of many. With Jamaica being a Christian country, there have been groups that rallied against the content, emphasizing that it’s ungodly, and should be taken off the airwaves. The Artists that perform these songs however, are pushing back with the defense that it’s free speech. While that battle goes underway, Dancehall Artist Navino is taking a different route, and chooses to promote a positive message on the single, “Prayers Up”.

Produced by Damage Musiq on the “Spiritual Warfare Riddim”, Navino walks with God, and he’s leading the charge for the right things on “Prayers Up”. His path doesn’t require him to make music with certain messages like some of his peers, and he can’t go against what is right to make content that glorifies the devil, and acts of evil. His journey is not an easy one, but he is determined to do the right things even when the forces around seek to corrupt him. Navino aims to make music that uplifts, and can be enjoyed by people of all ages. “Prayers Up” is a change from the new norm of music being released, and has been receiving great feedback since its debut, with many highlighting the positive messages. The Artist looks to influence more of his peers to follow the path with the content, and encourages listeners to make the right moves for a positive change as the country has had its share of corruption, crime, and violence, and they need to be done away with. A campaign is currently underway to promote the single to various platforms.

Dancehall Music has seen its share of beefs over the years, from the biggest of stars, to upcoming acts. While clashes and diss tracks are exciting, we sometimes never know what the possibilities can be if those opponents actually collaborated. This week among a few beefs happening, Teejay and Valiant have stepped out with conflict. Two Artists who have had an amazing 2023 are now at odds during which would be another big year for them. Amidst the drama, we get a collaborated that was to see the light of day later this year called, “Homage (Day Ones)“.

Produced by Damage Musiq, “Homage (Day Ones)” finds Teejay and Valiant making a dedication to the loyal friends, the real ones, and the friends who have become family. Despite the pending beef between the two Artists (Honestly, wouldn’t be surprised if this beef was fabricated.), this is a track that is needed in times like these where backstabbing is common, and disloyalty is the new trend. Teejay is set to release the “I Am Chippy EP” next month, while Valiant is busy with new music and bookings. When this beef ends, we look forward to more from them. In the meantime, press play.
