With his Ancient Future album finally being released, Protoje went over the shores and stopped by Hot 97’s “Ebro In The Morning” show. Here he gave a little on his background, his album, the difference between his music and other music in Jamaica, liking Hip Hop and Reggae influencing the genre, the decriminalizing of Marijuana in Jamaica, and more. Pretty short interview but still a good one. Protoje’s riding high off Ancient Future’s success as it has topped a few Reggae and iTunes charts. On this morning’s “Ebro In The AM” show on Hot 97, Dancehall artist Tifa was a featured guest. Here she spoke on her music, being dubbed “Queen of the Dancehall“, her influences, being a part of the “On The Reggae Tip” event, wanting to be one of the top Dancehall artists making it big internationally, maintaining a level of professionalism in her career, and proving many wrong. Tifa also handled her own on the microphone where she performed “Back It Up” and other songs. I liked this interview and Tifa handled herself well and represented Jamaica well. Tifa’s been on a good run as of late with the new record deal, Headphones and her singles so she has a right to wear the crown.
