XKappe Is On A “Mission”

Manchester-based Dancehall Artist XKappe has been consistent with the music this year, and is catching the attention of many in the process. With his raw energy and witty wordplay, his request list continues to grow as well as his booking inquiries. When it comes to the music, he’s sick with it. He emphasizes it with the visual for the single, “Mission“.

Directed by Saii Media Group, XKappe finds himself in the straight jacket in the video for, “Mission”. Over Steel Chest’s “Mission Riddim“, the Deejay shares his passion for getting to the money, becoming one of the heavyweights, and dominating not only his lane, but any lane he finds himself in. The video finds him confined to a wheelchair while he Deejays for Steel Chest in a Mental Institution setup, with the intention of escaping when the time is right. How much of a “Portmore Empire” fan are you? How many of you remember the original Portmore Empire though? When it was Vybz Kartel, Deva Bratt, Nuclear, the late Craig Dennis, Earthworm, Doza Medicine, the late Gaza Maxwell, Shawn Storm, Avalanche, Black Ryno, Baby Doll, and the First Lady Omeil. A lot has happened since those days, and members came and went, and have chosen different paths in life. One of the celebrated former members, Doza Medicine, has managed stay above the negativity in the world, and have a life for himself. With the advent of the “Street Vybz 2.0 Riddim“, he steps in with the single, “Mission“.

With the original “Gaza/Portmore Empire Producer” Notnice at the helm, Doza Medicine gives listeners a blast from the past vibes with his “Mission” single. Having recorded the singles “Every Song Dat Play” and “Trinidad & Tobago” on the original “Street Vybz Riddim” in 2010, Doza feels right at home as he shares his ambitions to become a Billionaire, his views on the “Choppas” of Dancehall, staying mysterious to those who believed he was living a destitute life, reminiscing on the good old days, and living life in the best way he can. The single is accompanied by a Music Video that finds him catching flights, signing contracts, and living it up with his people. Despite what some may say, Doza Medicine is doing ok. We can always reflect on the early days of the Portmore Empire, and with discussions of Vybz Kartel’s freedom getting hot, let’s see what the future has in store for us, and the Artists in terms of reunions.

Last year, upcoming Recording Artist/Podcaster/Creative GyalKapone celebrated her birthday with the release of her second single, “Mission“. The track has won over some listeners with the “badness” injected in the lyrics as Kapone is looking for a way to score a few Million by any means necessary. The track is still making its rounds along with her debut single, “Never“, but she now taking her career up a notch with her first remix.

GyalKapone enjoys a remix of “Mission” with Jamaican born/Antigua based Recording Artist Young Luiy. On the track, Luiy is gearing up to grab a few Million as well, and ensures that his moves are smooth ones so that the bags are secured. He compliments GyalKapone’s original track well, and this may be the beginning of a few collaborations between the two. Maybe we get some Bonnie & Clyde styled collabs.
