Being one of the popular DJs on one of the Island’s biggest radio stations, ZJ Liquid has pleased listeners and party patrons worldwide. With him being involved in the IKon radio tower saga, he visited the Onstage to speak on it and more. Here he recalled the story on IKon’s actions and what he thinks will result out of it, being granted the opportunities to DJ on BET’s 106 & Park, being a producer, his Good Book Riddim and the artists featured on it, and future plans. With dancing being a huge staple in Dancehall music, many songs have been created to accompany many of them. Ding Dong is no different as he’s one of the few to fuse those together. Accompanied by his Ravers Clavers Crew members, tonight on Onstage he spoke with Winford Williams about this and more. Topics he covered included the Dancehall dance movement here and overseas, his single “Syvah” and its popularity, and in the end performed his hit single and performed the “Syvah” and “Well Shampoo” dances. Not a bad segment here, with “Syvah” burning up the airwaves and the streets, I look forward to more dancing songs and dances to match. After making a couple changes in her career and seeing some not so great results, Reggae artist Etana has devoted to improving it. Tonight on Onstage she spoke about this and more with Winford Williams. Here she spoke about her misstep, working on a new album and working with different producers, her “Trigger” single, touring, and encouraging artists to be more organized with their careers. Good interview, she also premiered her “Trigger” music video. Despite her misstep I know Etana will bounce back bigger than ever. With a slew of new Dancehall artists finding new ways to gain popularity in the music scene, many see the actions as great marketing, or a gimmick. With his name being in the media for his actions recently, IKon, accompanied by Selector Boom Boom, joined Winford Williams on Onstage to discuss a few things. Here they spoke about Radio DJs not giving new artists a chance to make their music be heard, suggesting those DJs to hit the streets and find new talent, IKon seeing the results of his stunt, why he did it, not wanting to be seen as a gimmick artist, working on new music and much more. A decent interview here, IKon sure made many pay attention to his actions, but will he last as a Dancehall artist? Only time will tell. Boasting an all female band tonight on Onstage is Adahzeh. Here they introduced themselves to the world, spoke about the meaning of their band name, meeting one another and getting their start, life outside of their musical career, their single “Caliente Girls“, and future endeavours. They also premiered the music video for “Caliente Girls” and gave a live performance. Good to see these young ladies on this platform and I wish them nothing but success.
