When Jamaica’s involved in something, it’s gonna be great. Tonight, BET kicked off their annual Hip Hop Awards. While they’ve featured some of the best in music, many were waiting for the much anticipated “Reggae Cypher“!

Featuring Shenseea, Bounty Killa, Beenie Man, Skip Marley, Koffee, with ZJ Liquid handling the DJ role, the artists did what they had to do over Damian “Junior Gong” Marley’s classic “Welcome To JamRock“, and represented Jamaica and Dancehall. Given that Covid 19 is still around, the Cypher had to be pre-recorded for broadcast. Can you imagine if all artists were performing live? Lots of high energy would be given. Big up the artists, another one for Jamaica!

ZJL

Being one of the popular DJs on one of the Island’s biggest radio stations, ZJ Liquid has pleased listeners and party patrons worldwide. With him being involved in the IKon radio tower saga, he visited the Onstage to speak on it and more. Here he recalled the story on IKon’s actions and what he thinks will result out of it, being granted the opportunities to DJ on BET’s 106 & Park, being a producer, his Good Book Riddim and the artists featured on it, and future plans. Short but a good Interview, he gave some good points and I hope new artists don’t try to pull the same stunts. Check out the video below and share your thoughts in the comments section.

On tonight’s episode of Onstage, the legendary Queen Patra was interviewed by Winford Williams. Here she spoke about her reasons on her absence at the BET Awards, the music Industry, not being classified as just being a Dancehall artist, maintaining her fanbase, and her upcoming projects. She even previewed her “Sweet Reggae Music” video. Good to see Patra still doing her thing. She’s still very hot too. I wasn’t aware that she was invited to perform at the BET Awards along with Shabba Ranks but as she said she wasn’t feeling good about the opportunity. What do you think?
