Tonight the White House and the world will be treated to performances from their “In Performance At The White House” series. Hosted by the First Lady Michelle Obama, the lineup features Patti LaBelle, Ariana Grande, Janelle Monae, Aretha Franklin, Jill Scott, Melissa Etheridge and Jamaica’s own Tessanne Chin. The event is a celebration of the great “foremothers” of American music, with songs expressing the struggles and achievements of women. After conquering our screens and hearts, Tessanne made her way Onstage to have a chat with Winford Williams. Here she spoke about her life after The Voice and her experience during the competition, her performances and the support she’s received so far locally and internationally, her personal life and how she’s managed it during The Voice, Shaggy & Friends, flying on a private Jet, working on new music, motherhood in 5 years and much more. Today’s new music comes from the dynamic duo of Twin of Twins. Titled “Tessanne“, the twins revisit the sound bite from Tessanne Chin on The Voice where she highlighted that Jamaica has the worst roads. With this in mind, the twins asks Tessanne to address all the other problems that country is facing. With her new star power already affecting the country (the budget for new roads was found just hours after her comment was made), it wouldn’t hurt if Tessanne heard this and did her thing. Happy New Year readers! What better way to ring in the new year with a performance from our very own Tessanne Chin! Accompanied by Will Champlin and Jacquie Lee on a float representing “The Voice” at the 2014 Rose Parade, Tessanne performed her “Tumbling Down” single with her former contestants. Short but sweet and I like the fact that Jamaica’s being represented here again overseas. Big up to Tessanne, Jacquie,Will and The Voice! With many celebrating Tessanne’s success, how many of us knew her before The Voice? Onstage TV released her first interview to show you how she was before it all. Here she spoke about her debut album, her hit single “Hideaway” and it becoming a classic, her upbringing and her start in the music business, working the band Mile High and Jimmy Cliff, her career at the time, her future ambitions and more. Great interview, I remember when “Hideaway” was burning up the airwaves and it still is doing its rounds today. Again I wish her much more success. I hope she re-releases her debut album.
