Weeks ago, Hip Hop Artist A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie posted a photo on Instagram which featured the Vendetta Boss, Alkaline. In the caption, Boogie asked for 50,000 likes as permission to collaborate with the Dancehall Artist. A couple hundred thousand likes (and a deleted post) later, the collab came in the form of the single, “Nonchalant“! Speaking on the lifestyles they live, they warn the ladies that they’re not Romeos so don’t expect any exclusivity. Blending both of their signature sounds, you’ll find yourself rocking to this collaboration, and wanting to hear more from them. Maybe they have more in store, would be interesting if they made an EP together as well. What do you think? Check out the track below, and follow us on Instagram at @13thStreetPromo.
Yeah I said it. The Artist born Earlan Bartley has been gaining some traction in Dancehall Music over the years. Despite the controversies, he still manages to have a large fan base, plenty bookings, and hit songs. With his buzz starting around 2013, he first caught the attention of many with his Music Video for “Not A Slack Song”. The video, which scored high on the raunchy scale, was met with a huge backlash online with many writing him off as an Artist who had to use controversy to get a “buss”. The songs that followed further got his name buzzing for better, or for worse.
With the recent beefs making their rounds in the Dancehall circles, there are a few of us who wished things got to a point where the Artists involved could just settle it all with fists in a ring. Luckily for us, Comedian Kyng Tavii spared loss of lives, unnecessary injuries, and saved a bag of money on bills and Insurance with his latest skit. Here he re-imagines the beefs as WWE Wrestling matches complete with an excited audience. In the ring we have Mavado vs Popcaan, each with their ring side partners. Who will win this match? Thought the original was hot? Well here’s the remix! Vendetta Clan boss Alkaline enlisted Singer/Rapper Sean Kingston for the “Ride On Me (Remix)“. Produced by DJ Frass Records, Alka deejays the lines for the ladies while Sean croons them. Ladies slow wine and get sensual for the Vendetta Clan! What do you think? After causing quite some controversy last year, what does 2015 have in store for Alkaline? Tonight on Onstage he spoke on being public enemy #1, his absence from Sting 2014, focusing on his career and claiming to being above many of his musical peers, avoiding clashes, “Vendetta“, his performance at Reggae Sumfest 2014, his new look, his debut appearance in the US and more music. Despite being a target in Dancehall, Alkaline continued to make a name for himself worldwide. You can’t help but respect that.
