.@TheAlkaline Gets Recruited For @OGKeithSweat’s “Playing For Keeps” Album!

R&B Veteran Keith Sweat always had a thing for delivering that feel good grown folks music. From his debut decades ago, he has been the one to turn up the heat for the ladies. Recently, he released his 13th studio album, “Playing For Keeps“. While fans know what to expect from the R&B Crooner, his collaboration with Dancehall Artist Alkaline on “Fuego” was a pump on the brakes. The track, which also features Akon and RayFade, boasts some modern production and encourages you to bust a move throughout. Are there hints of Aidonia and Di Genius’Fi Di Jockey” and Donovan Germaine and Dave Kelly’sDickie” Riddims I hear? Alkaline held his own on this track and this a huge look for not only the Dancehall Artist, but for the genre on a whole. Big up the Detta Boss. Keith Sweat’s new album is out now. We Take A “Quick Throwback” Look Into @TheAlkaline’s “Mi Love Woman”!

We took a week off, but today we’re back with another post in our “Quick Throwback” series. Today we go back to the year 2011 with Alkaline’sMi Love Woman“! Borrowing Seanizzle’s “Split Personality Riddim“, the young Alka (who was attending Ardenne High School at the time) expressed his love for the women, and wishes to “touch all the women in the world“. He also shot a video and featured some of his high school peers.

Since the release of “Mi Love Woman”, Alkaline went on to become one of Jamaica’s most controversial Deejays with a cult-like following similar to currently incarcerated Artist, Vybz Kartel. He has enjoyed his fair share of hit songs as well, and has managed to see success despite taking time off, or being involved in conflict. Stay tuned for another quick throwback!

@SingerFabian Tells The Truth!

With an increase in publicity stunts being used to market music, Cashflow Recording Artiste Fabian feels the need to tell his truth. His new single produced by Psy-en-tiz from New York titled ‘Truth’ is recorded by Fabian’s Alter Ego. Fabian said “Yes, I have an Alter Ego, for a while now I have been Fabian the Singer but there is the side of me that can deejay and command attention too”.

The Artiste who has quite a few controversial lines in the song has indeed been garnering attention. A line from the singles states, “Alkaline a run Dancehall an we all know a di truth dis… how teacha fi run Dancehall being incarcerated…”. Fabian explained “I respect Alkaline and I appreciate seeing an underdog come to the forefront and dominate and that’s exactly what he is doing”.

Fabian, known for his collaboration with Digicel Rising Star Winner Tash in 2011 titled ‘It’s In the Books’, has been receiving mixed reactions to the single ‘Truth’. He said, “Some people love it and others are offended by some of the opinions I share in the song but this is who I am and my opinions are simply mine”.

The young Artiste also added that he would like to see media embracing more talents and shining light on the successes of these young talents. On a lighter note, Fabian released yet another song called ‘Nah Give Up’ on the ‘Psalms 91 Riddim’ which was produced by Cashflow Records which speaks to remaining positive no matter what the circumstances may be.

NEW MUSIC: @RealIOctane x @TheAlkaline x @Mavado_Gully – Above Them

Abovethem

Staying higher than mountains today are I Octane, Alkaline and Mavado. In what a few would call an unlikely combination comes “Above Them“. Produced by DJ Frass Records, we hear the trio speak on elevating themselves, looking back at their struggles, achieving success and laughing at those who try to stop them. Interesting to hear these three on one track, but they make it work over a dope DJ Frass production. Three artists who respect each other’s work, and one track that I believe will be a hot one this year. Check out the track below and share your thoughts in the comments section.
