Ky-Mani Marley Brings “Love And Energy” With New Album

Reggae Music continues to elevate even in the rough times. Music can be the comfort when everything else fails. Known for a solid and diverse catalogue, Ky-Mani Marley has done well over the years, and looks to further solidify his name. Over the past weekend, he released his new album, “Love And Energy“.

Featuring 16 tracks, Ky-Mani Marley brings good music with the new “Love And Energy” album. Tapping into Reggae, Dancehall, and R&B throughout, Marley has music to recharge the listener, and take them away from all the stress in their world. Ky-Mani gets into some production on the album along with Anthony Smith, Azriel Reckley, Dean Thomas and more, while Bugle, Andrew Tosh, Anthony B, Lutan Fyah, Gyptian, Iba Mahr, Agent Sasco, and Sizzla join in on a few tracks. For those who watched “Shottas“, Biggs and Wayne both dropped albums this past weekend (Spragga Benz released the “Endeavors Reloaded” album). Keep the Reggae music flowing.

The “ShottaKy-Mani Marley stopped by Power 105.1’sThe Breakfast Club” for a quick interview. Here he spoke a little about his background, releasing his first album in 8 years, his father’s legacy and recalling a memory with him, touring and more. Great interview here, while many will remember Ky-Mani for being a part of the classic “Shottas“, they will need to add his music to their collection. “Maestro” will be out on June 30. Onstage

With the premiere of the “Jamaican Mafia” hitting screens this month, actors Paul Campbell and Mykal Fax stepped on Onstage to speak on the film and more with Winford Williams. Here the actors spoke about the film, their roles in the making of the film, Mykal’s background and previous work in film, Paul’s achievements in film, thoughts on Jamaican movies with violent themes being released, preparing for their roles and more. With Jamaican films like “Shottas“, “The Harder They Come” and “Dancehall Queen” being very successful worldwide, I do hope “Jamaican Mafia” is the next film to make a mark in the record books. Check out the interview and trailer below and share your thoughts in the comments section.

OLDIES SUNDAY: Pan Head – GunMan Tune (1991)

[In respect to the 17th anniversary of Biggie Smalls’ passing, my Oldies Sunday selection features a song he sampled on his first album.]

Today’s Oldies Sunday selection comes from Deejay Pan Head. Titled “Gunman Tune” with production by Lloyd “John John” James Jr. on the “Soap Riddim” and distribution by Father & Son Records in 1991, we hear Pan Head paying tribute to all the gun men in Jamaica while showing disrespect to informants (or snitches). He also speaks on the different communities that the gunmen reside in, the types of weaponry they have in their artillery, how they use them and the type of friends gunmen and informants should have.
