Vybz Kartel’s “Clarks” Featured In New Supreme X @Transformers Promo

Where are the Streetwear Scholars? The Brand Aficionados? Streetwear brand Supreme has announced their official collaboration with the classic “Transformers” franchise. The hit TV/Film franchise teams up with the New York-founded Streetwear brand to launch a new Optimus Prime figure featuring special makeup/branding. To kick things off, the collaborators released a promotional video to announce the new venture, but a familiar sound was featured throughout.

In the promotional video for Supreme and Transformers’ new collaboration made by PlasticAction that features a dancing Optimus Prime action figure, Vybz Kartel’s 2009 hit single, “Clarks” was used in the soundtrack. Produced by ZJ Chrome, Vybz Kartel’s “Clarks” was an ode to the popular British Footwear brand. The song also featured a then upcoming Artist named Popcaan, who recently joined the Portmore Empire/Gaza collective, and Gaza Slim who also a fresh recruit. “Clarks” would take the scene by storm, and further contributed to the already growing love for the line of shoes in Jamaica, and the rest of the Caribbean. With Vybz Kartel being featured in the promotional spot, it’s only right that Supreme reaches out for a collaboration (Supreme if you’re reading this, I want a care package of the Vybz Kartel collab please and thanks).

Supreme x Transformers launches on April 17 on Supreme’s webstore.

Vybz Kartel Breathes New Life Into “Ignite The World” With Official Music Video

This may not come as a surprise to many, but Vybz Kartel is one of the hardest working Dancehall Artists out. Even when he was incarcerated, he was toiling away to ensure the fans are taken care of, and his family is fed. Since his release, he has been having a Portia Simpson-Miller moment (“working working working“), and the world has seen all that he has been up to from sold out concerts, a new liquor line, more money making ventures, and of course new music. Earlier this year, he celebrated a GRAMMY nomination for his 2024 “Party With Me” EP, and has decided to make up for lost time with new content. Earlier, he released the visual for, “Ignite The World“.

Directed by Rizzy for Now Or Never and shot in Miami, Vybz Kartel breathes new life into “Ignite The World” with an official Music Video. Originally released in 2014 and re-released in 2024 for his “Party With Me” EP, Vybz has the Women, the designer fashion, and Str8 Vybz Rum to celebrate good times, and bring back the energy for a track that quickly became a classic for fans. The Deejay recently performed in Tortola, BVI to a sold out crowd, and is gearing up to take on Brooklyn, New York, Europe, and a host of venues in the coming weeks as a part of his comeback tour. “Ignite The World” will definitely be in the setlist, and if you haven’t secured a ticket yet, now is the time to fix that. We’re just waiting for music videos for “Without Money“, and “Lyricist” 1 & 2 in the meantime.

Vybz Kartel continues his journey of life after Prison, and it is steadily becoming a world tour after all the trips he has made so far. Tonight, he makes history with his long-awaited “Vybz Kartel & Friends” Concert in Tortola, BVI, and leading up to this night, he has been making appearances, and working on new music. Speaking of new music, he shares the new single, “When We A Dweet“.

Featuring Likkle Vybz and Red Boom, Vybz Kartel reminds us that the Gaza Nation is stronger than ever in “When We A Dweet”. Released through Adidjahiem Records, the new single has a strong chance of being in regular rotation till Kartel’s summer releases. The Artists share that they maintain a presence in every place you need them in, and they have the people to back up the claims. The track gets an extra push with a Music Video directed by Rizzy for Now Or Never, and the Deejays get flashy here, and share a bit of the lifestyle they live sporting Designer fashion, popping bottles, and being around people who are about that life. Freedom sweet, ain’t it? Vybz Kartel has been enjoying it like never before. Currently in the England, the Deejay has been on a comeback journey since July 31, 2024, and he’s just getting started. A welcome back Concert, new singles, reconnecting with many, and enjoying life and love, he is grateful. Speaking of reconnecting, he did just that recently with the legendary Busta Rhymes, and earlier they released the new collaboration called, “Crazy“.

Produced by Hitmaker and featuring the legendary Akon, Busta Rhymes and Vybz Kartel solidify their friendship even more, and gave us another collaboration in, “Crazy”. Busta gives us some of his signature bars while Akon shows why he is in the league of greats, and Vybz shares his new and positive outlook on life, with the declaration that “God is the greatest”. The last time Busta and Vybz collaborated was on “The Don & The Boss” from 2021, so them being in the same space together for this new track was nothing short of a blessing. Remember when Vybz remixed Akon’s hit single “Locked Up“? Good times. Here’s to more collaborations.

It was only right this was going to happen. After a controversial episode with Beenie Man, the Drink Champs team had to follow up with a guest that has been requested for quite some time. Enjoying life in a big way since his release from Prison last Summer, Vybz Kartel was granted a US Visa earlier this month, and has been making the most of his time in the states. He finally made his appearance on Drink Champs to talk about a few things.

For over 3 hours, hosts Norega and DJ EFN along with guest co-host iRossta of Drink Champs chop it up with Vybz Kartel about his upbringing, getting his break in Dancehall, his gradual rise as a Dancehall Artist, his legendary catalogue, Gully vs Gaza, his first GRAMMY nomination, the “King of the Dancehall” topic, prison, and a lot more. Just like the Beenie Man episode, you will be informed and quite entertained with this episode. The people will be talking, and this may go down as one of Drink Champs’ most popular episodes. The “World Boss” continues his Media run in the US.

Jazzy’s World TV Interviews Vybz Kartel

Since his release on July 31st, 2024, Dancehall Artist Vybz Kartel has been a hot topic in Media. If you were one of the platforms to have been granted an Interview, you were in for a good time. Another Interviewer to take on the task is the young Media sensation, Jazzy of “Jazzy’s World TV“. The Brooklyn-based Teen has been making strides with her Interview series, and was recognized by a number of entities for her work. She recently interviewed Vybz Kartel, and it may just be one of her biggest moments.

For a few minutes, Jazzy and Vybz Kartel had a conversation about his upbringing in Portmore, his musical Inspirations, his start as a Dancehall Artist, contributing to the culture, his time in Prison, having appreciation for life since being free, family life, “Freedom Street“, and a lot more. This was a good presentation as Jazzy has continued to prove that she is a worthy part of modern Media, and there were plenty good moments throughout, even when she showed Vybz Kartel a poster of his first time performing in New York over 20 years ago. Jazzy previously interviewed the likes of Skillibeng, Damian and Stephen Marley, Nicki Minaj, and Rihanna, and we look forward to her continued elevation.
