Recently, it was announced that Dancehall Artist Popcaan was granted a US Visa after not having one for well over a decade. He quickly followed up with a trip back to the states, where he reconnected with friends and family. Despite the new developments, Canada is one of the places that still has its doors open for him, and he continues to have affiliations, and secure more collaborations. His latest includes, “Drum & Bass“.

Produced by Frantisek Sulc and Dylan Hyde and featuring OVO affiliate TVGucci, Popcaan delivers something for the ladies with “Drum & Bass”. Expect this collaboration to be much-requested by the ladies at the Brunch, and this is the start of a lot more of “International Popcaan” now that he is free in the US streets. It’s that time. Canada’s own Drake returns to the scene in a huge way with a trio of album releases. “Iceman“, “Maid Of Honour“, and “Habibti” serves as his return to the top spot after releasing a joint album with PartyNextDoor, and recovering from his much talked about battle with fellow Rapper, Kendrick Lamar. With 43 tracks, he has covered plenty ground, and with a few features throughout, it’s this feature on “Maid Of Honour” we focus on. He links up with an old friend here.

On Drake’s “Maid Of Honour”, Dancehall Artist Popcaan joins him on the track, “Amazing Shape“. As with previous collabs, this one is aimed at the ladies, and with the mix of Jamaica and Canada, it’s “OVO Unruly” again. Popcaan was signed to OVO Sound in 2013, and severed ties in 2023, but remains on good terms with Drake, even supporting during his battle with Kendrick Lamar. “Amazing Shape” is just one of the many tracks that ladies will be tuning in to on “Maid Of Honour”. “New Bestie“, another track on the album, features Drake speaking in Patois, and shouting out Dancehall Artist Vybz Kartel, who we thought would make an appearance. The track “BBW” features a sample of Trini Artist Denise Belfon’s classic “Put Your Back In It“. The album along with “Iceman” and “Habibti” are out now.

“Life is just for living” was said by the late Ernie Smith, and it still holds true today. No matter what’s going on every day, life continues to happen, and we live however we can. Dancehall Artist Popcaan understands this, and despite challenges during the triumphs, “Life Still A Gwaan“.

With a video directed by Shane Creative, Popcaan connects with the people, and shares the reality in, “Life Still A Gwaan”. Shot in St. Thomas, Popcaan shares what’s important to him, ensures he makes every day count, and will always make it a priority to prove the doubters wrong. The Damage Musiq-produced track also found him sending a shout out to the newly-freed Chronic Law, and encourages listeners to fight for what is right. Popcaan recently released “Lavish And Madish“, and has more singles to hit the streets, so fans can stay tuned. Born to prove them wrong.

To say Popcaan is successful is an understatement. Since his breakout at the end of the 2000s, he has connected with the right people, and elevated his music career, and finances. Being broke is definitely a thing of the past for him. Right now, he’s living “Lavish And Madish“.

Produced by Droptop Records/Unruly Ent., Popcaan is where he needs to be, with success beyond measure in, “Lavish And Madish”. From getting Millions, to running the place, he’s in a good place right now. “Lavish” is just one of a number of singles he has released recently, and best believe he has more to drop before summer. Outside of the Studio, he has been living it up in Jamaica, and even in Ghana where he was crowned sub-Chief, and bestowed the title, “Nana Okofo Akro Kese“. The life he’s living was years in the making, and took a lot of work. Respect the “Unruly Boss“.
