Charly Black Promoted Unity With Star-Studded “One Chance” Festival In Manchester

On Saturday December 14, the Parish of Manchester was treated to a night of great performances thanks to the first staging of the “One ChanceMusic Festival. Hosted by Dancehall Artist Charly Black, DJ Marvin, and Unstoppable Entertainment and held at the parking lot of Toast Restaurant & Gelato, the “One Chance” Music Festival was made to promote unity in Jamaican music and society, bring together a number of established and rising stars, and bring more specialized entertainment events in Manchester. Despite the late start for performances, patrons were treated to the selections from the likes of Bass Odyssey, DJ Sherlock, and ZJ Liquid, and those who needed something extra could grab a soup, boxed food, and a beverage of their choice nearby.

When it was time for the performances, the early segment gave way to a number of Mandeville-based Reggae/Dancehall Artists on the rise who displayed some of their best work. It was then followed by performances by the Tower Band who provided musical backing for Charly Black, who soon after brought on stage Yaksta, Yaadcore, Neeqah, Denyque, and X-Kappe, who brought along a number of his Artists. The first staging of the “One Chance” Music Festival showed that Music Festival deserves to be held in the Parish, and we look forward to a bigger, better event in 2025.

For those who were unable to attend the Music Festival, we have some highlights for you to check out. Check out the video below, and share with a friend. Show us some love/follow us on Twitter, TikTok, Threads, and Instagram at @13thStreetPromo.

Charly Black Holds His Own In “One Chance”

Dancehall Artist Charly Black has seen it all in his years on Earth, and he makes necessary moves to avoid dire circumstances. With the year he has been having, he’s aiming for a higher elevation. Before he kicks off his “One Chance Music Festival” in Mandeville, he shares the visual for the single, “One Chance“.

Directed by Kenny Gray, Charly Black takes it to the street, and shares his mindset in “One Chance”. He shares that people have done him wrong over the years, and he has conditioned himself to know when to walk away from fake friends, those who have committed acts of deception towards him, and situations that don’t mean him well. Once the true colours are shown once, he’s falling back, and protecting himself. Produced by ZJ Liquid on the “Narcissism Riddim“, “One Chance” has been doing well since its release this past Summer, and Charly has been receiving positive feedback. The Deejay will be hosting the “One Chance Music Festival” in Mandeville, Manchester on December 14, and looks forward to a huge attendance.

Quick Cook Sees The Way Of “People” In New Video

Quick Cook is one of those people you can’t exclude out of the pages of Dancehall. Whether through song or slang, he has contributed to a number of moments over the years. Recently, he has been calling for more unity in Dancehall. As one who was in the middle of the famous Gaza/Gully beef as he was friends with Vybz Kartel and Mavado, he has seen how bad it can get in the scene, and would rather foes to become friends, and set better examples. What he wants to get rid of as well, are the people who study evil. He speaks on it in, “People“.

Produced by ZJ Liquid for his H2O Records on the “Narcissism Riddim” and released through Bread Organization, Quick Cook is navigating through life in the best way he can, and not get caught in the evil acts of the opposers in “People”. He speaks on the people who have meant him harm, and warns listeners to be careful of the people they share their energy with, and watch out for the fake smiles. He sheds light on the ways of people in a Music Video directed by RayeBann Entertainment, and we can all relate to these scenarios. Quick Cook holds it down with faith and prayer, and continues to be cautious.

When Jamaica’s involved in something, it’s gonna be great. Tonight, BET kicked off their annual Hip Hop Awards. While they’ve featured some of the best in music, many were waiting for the much anticipated “Reggae Cypher“!

Featuring Shenseea, Bounty Killa, Beenie Man, Skip Marley, Koffee, with ZJ Liquid handling the DJ role, the artists did what they had to do over Damian “Junior Gong” Marley’s classic “Welcome To JamRock“, and represented Jamaica and Dancehall. Given that Covid 19 is still around, the Cypher had to be pre-recorded for broadcast. Can you imagine if all artists were performing live? Lots of high energy would be given. Big up the artists, another one for Jamaica!
