It’s the month of June! For many, it’s considered a Wedding month, as many couples chose this month to jump the broom, get hitched, and make an honest partner out of each other. We’ve highlighted a few Wedding themed songs on Oldies Sunday, and today we give you another. Today’s selection comes from Junior Sledge with the track, “Be My Bride“.

Produced by George “Photographer” Lemon, “Be My Bride” was released in 1986 through the Photographer Label. On the track, Junior Sledge tells the lady in his life that she will be his Wife. He lists some of the many ways he feels about her, and makes the case that she will be his Bridge. Sledge delivers his track with some melodies over a Dancehall production. “Be My Bride” was a part of the “Photographer In a Dancehall” compilation that featured tracks with Admiral Bailey, Carl Meeks, Anthony Red Rose, and others. Produced by Kasadie Jones of Caspa Productions, Elise Dash delivers smooth vocals, and shows off her songwriting as she seeks her “Rude boy” to take over her life. We hope he doesn’t keep her waiting too long. Elise Dash brings a unique sound to the scene, and she is just scratching the surface of her abilities. We can’t wait to see what she’ll do next. Reggae/Dancehall Artist Bugle continues to deliver solid, conscious, and positive messages in every release, and today we hope this one connects with you strongly. Today, we get to check out “Prayer & Fasting“.

Produced by EastKings Records and featuring Recording Artist Imeru Tafari, son of Reggae Artist Queen Ifrica, Bugle shares a few words of caution for his listeners. The road may be rocky, but life is everlasting. Bugle and Imeru give thanks for the Matriarchs who have prayed without ceasing for their safety, for guidance along their respective paths, and for blessings to shower them daily. There’s nothing like Mama’s love, and the love of God. Accompanying the new single, is a music video directed by Swag TV Filmz, and it features a few cameo appearances, and a great visual showcasing unity. Something that is needed in these times.
