The “Gully Gad” Mavado returns with new music. The Deejay has been described as a column in Dancehall, and thanks to his catalogue, they’re not wrong about that. Despite all the hits, achievements, and milestones, there are many who still speak negatively about him. Nonetheless, he has some words for the haters on, “No Sorry“.

Produced by Son Son Productions and Mansion Records, Mavado is not sorry the way he is, and reflects on the times when he was at his lowest, crediting God for bringing him to the position where he’s successful. For the haters, he tells them that they can’t stop his progress, and they can say and do whatever, but he will always be moving forward, and dealing with their negativity in his own way. Mavado has been the topic of many negative news and smear campaigns over the years, but he continued to rise above the madness, and make efforts to better the life for himself and family, and the fans and supporters great music. Trinidad/Brooklyn-based Recording Artist Young Devyn has been on the scene for quite some time. She has been steadily building her presence and fanbase thanks to a number of releases including her two “Baby Goat” projects, and collaborations with the likes of Fivio Foreign, Ace Numbafive, Kenzo B, and EA Sports for the “Madden 24” soundtrack. While things have been looking up, she still finds time to flex her abilities on popular tracks. She went viral by remixing Byron Messia’s “Talibans” this past Summer, and now she tackles Malie Donn’s “V6“.

Young Devyn gives Malie Donn’s “V6” the “Bad Gyal Remix” treatment, and she is having fun here. Adding to the remix, she dropped a In-Studio performance video directed by Reel Guerrillas. The original “V6” has been considered one of the top singles of 2023, and has been enjoying its share of viral love. Young Devyn looks to drop more music in the coming weeks. What’s Your Favourite Video Game?

Video Games are a way of life, and have been that way for many for years. In the Caribbean, Game Arcades or “Game Shops” have been the hotspot for the young and old who saw video games as tools for enjoyment and relaxation. Things got more interesting when Gaming consoles made their way into homes. In the later years, Esports tapped into the Islands, giving people opportunities to make new connections, generate streams of income, and live the dream. Recently at the JEI Grand Finals event, we asked a few attendees the question, “What’s Your Favourite Video Game?“.

From Cosplayers, to casual gamers, to competitive gamers, we got a variety of answers to show that the video game culture is strong on the Island. In the WVLNTH-directed video, Ymo G won’t rest until he’s rich in “Insomnia”. On the Dynasty Global, Ultimate Street Team Music, and BandyBeats-produced track, he speaks on all that he needs to do fulfill his missions, the personal battles faced, the dedication to the chop life, and the determination that he will be rich by any means. The dark tones in the visual reflect the dark world of the Choppa life, but it’s something that many find as a haven for economic growth. Ymo wants to be rich like Mark Zuckerberg, so he’ll “wuk and believe” till it happens. Big food haffi eat.

We Have Highlights From The @JamaicaEsports Grand Finals!

Last weekend (September 30), the Jamaica Esports Initiative (JEI) held the grand finals of the National Esports League. Held at The Confucius Institute at UWI Mona, attendees entered into a world of competitive gaming, Cosplay, and more, and it was fun for all ages. The main event featured teams from around Jamaica competing for trophies, prizes, and bragging rights in Tekken 7, Super Smash Brothers Ultimate, Street Fighter 6, E-Football, and Rocket League. The JEI National Esports League was established in 2022, but the JEI has been around since 2018 fostering the growth of the Esports culture in Jamaica. With the help of organizations like the Anime Nerds of Jamaica (ANJ), Jamaica Cosplayers Club, and events like the AnimeCom Festival, more individuals are embracing and celebrating their love for Anime, Gaming, and various aspects of Pop Culture in Jamaica, and more can be done to encourage it with no opposition.

We attended the event, and captured a few highlights. We also have additional content featuring Gamers, and Cosplayers, which we will be following up with later this week. Dancehall Artist 450 knew early on that when opportunity comes, he takes full advantage. Since breaking out a couple years ago, he has been on a run that earned him millions of Youtube views, heavy rotation on Radio, online, and at your favourite events, continuous bookings locally and Internationally, and success that gets better every time. He now takes on Corporate Jamaica as Rum-Bar’s newest Ambassador.

Recently, Worthy Park Estate, the company behind the popular Rum-Bar brand and Rum-Bar Rum, secured 450 in a multimillion-dollar endorsement deal. The brand has been busy recruiting some big names over time, and the high profile Artist was the right pick for their latest acquisition. Possessing the charisma, personality, and looks along with a heavy presence on the scene, Rum-Bar believed in 450’s marketability, and they look forward to making him a part of many projects in the coming months. He was introduced along with fellow Dancehall Artist/Ambassador Vanessa Bling in the just-released “Vibes Of Jamaica” campaign, and the feedback so far has been positive. 450 is gearing up to release more music in the coming weeks, and will be performing at a stage near you.
