Nothing like a classic record isn’t it? Sometimes they don’t translate well with the new generation, and at times have to be tweaked a lil to get them to appreciate it. While this isn’t the case with today’s post, Jamaican Producer J.L.L. reimagines some of his favourite Bob Marley tunes with his latest remix project, “Vibes With Bob“. A Producer who we’ve included in our “Producers To Watch” feature and has made a name for himself through working with the likes of Chronixx, Smino, Royal Blu, Masego, Kranium, The Therapist, and Jane Macgizmo, this is a project to slowly enjoy like the sunset at your favourite location. With assistance from iotosh and Martel Howard, “Vibes With Bob” was 4 years in the making, and should have you ready to hear more. Check out the project below, and share with a friend! Montego Bay based DJ Jer keeps the crowd moving with his selections, but his remixes are something special. By now you should be familiar with Drake’s new “Scorpion” album, and his track “In My Feelings“. While the track has sparked a trending “In My Feelings Challenge“, Jer joins in on the fun with Dancehall Artist Vybz Kartel with a “In My Feelings” remix! Lifting Kartel’s “Do It” track, we get a dose of what the “World Boss” would sound like on a Drake track. Imagine if Kartel made it to Drake single. Keke, do you love Addi? O’neil Bryan, more popularly known as Elephant Man, has enjoyed much success in his 20+ years as a Dancehall Artist. Having a great track record, he was exalted to god levels hence his title as the “Energy God“. Today we look at another title that I’m sure many would bestow upon him, and that is the “King of the Refix“! With his unique ability to remix a hit song from any genre, Ele gave us that feel good music and an abundance of dance tunes. In our biggest Blog Post yet, see why Ele may just be the “Refix King” below!
(Elephant Man tracks and originals are linked to Apple Music in the titles.)
The “World Boss” is really living up his role as one of the hardest working Deejays despite his current situation. Earlier, the good folks at Major Lazer unleashed a special remix of the Nicki Minaj and PartyNextDoor featured “Run Up” with vocals from Vybz Kartel! Kicking it off with “Gaza Nation!“, Kartel goes into overdrive as he gives the ladies the lyrics that will have them clinging on to him like magnet to steel. He also made reference to having fun at the popular Summer Party series, Dream Weekend. A single that has had its share of remixes (including a Konshens Remix, and one by Dancehall Artist Khxos), but of course a Vybz Kartel version will make its rounds in various parties. Mi chain have so much Karat (Carrot), like me murda Bugs Bunny! Listen to the track below.
It’s about to be “Mixtape SZN” for Radio Personality, ZJ West! Following up his “Cumulus Clouds” Mixtape, he gives listeners a taste of his remixing skills with “Build You Up (Remix)“! Featuring Dexta Daps’ “Chinese Jordan”, he enlists some vocals from popular Selector, Foota Hype. If you’re familiar with Foota’s past relationship with the Dancehall Diva iShawna, you’re in for a listen. Do remember, you can find the homie West on Zip 103 FM playing nothing but the hits. Our “ZJ West YFF RMX” series will be back too! Check out the track below.
Recording Artist Alexx A-Game has been pretty busy in recent times, but he had his moments where he surprises us with new music. Recently, he teamed up with Manchester, UK based DJ/Production Collective Swing Ting and it resulted in a remix to his very popular single, “A-Game Everyday“. A song that has been an anthem for the Blog and our affiliate Blaze 876 Radio, Swing Ting took A-Game’s vocals and brought their unique sound which was provided by members DJ Platt and DJ Samrai, and lifted the track up on another level! If you love the original, you’ll definitely love the remix! Check out the track below and share your thoughts in the comments section.
