Producer/Recording Artist Iotosh has been putting in the work. From his early years producing for a number of upcoming Recording Artists, he has always ensured that he stood out with his sound. Catching the attention of big names like Protoje, things started to elevate for his career, and he became a go to Producer over time. When he started putting his vocals and lyrics to his beats, things got very interesting, and soon he was holding his own with some of his peers. His dedication to the music has paid off in a number of ways for him, and he has not reached his final form. However, he celebrates the milestone of a debut project in the form of an EP called, “For The People“.

Featuring 8 tracks, Iotosh stands tall as a future legend with his “For The People” EP. Packed with conscious themes, songs reflecting on real life situations, and a showcase of skilled songwriting, Iotosh shows growth with his debut. The EP is the result of a great deal of development behind the scenes paired with having success over time, and this is the beginning of even more greatness from him. Released through his Sound Ting imprint, the EP boasts a variety of different sounds, strengthening Tosh’s production prowess. If you’re a follower of this platform, you’d know of Canada-based Recording Artist King Cruff. Since the late 2010s, he has been on the scene building his fanbase, and developing his sound. Blending Hip Hop with Dancehall, Reggae, Afrobeats, Pop, and a lil EDM, he has been winning over listeners with his selections, and silencing his doubters. Earlier this year, we released a Short Film on Cruff, and he revealed that he would be releasing a project this year. He came through on that word with the release of his debut EP, “What Have I ‘Don“.

Presenting 6 tracks, King Cruff takes center stage with his “What Have I ‘Don” EP. His skillset takes an upgrade as he shows that world that he is made for this. An exhibition of potent flows and sharp lyrics that tap into Afrobeats, Dancehall, Hip Hop, and Pop sounds, this representative of the Tuff Gong camp has what it takes to make music that will stand out. Released through Tuff Gong Collective/Universal Music Canada, Cruff recruited Banx & Ranx, !llmind, CircaEleven, OLivR, and Natural High Music for some heavy production while Skip Marley, Solo Yt, Jag.Huligin, and StoneBwoy join in on the fun. King Cruff is here to make an impact and do a lot for the culture, and like his Grandfather, dem a go tyad fi see him face.

While the time has gotten chilly (and wet if you’re in the Caribbean currently), we hope the new musical selections have brought some warmth in your life. Recording Artist Kyraxx steps out with some long-awaited music, and he gives us his new “Summer Woes” project.

Featuring 10 tracks, Kyraxx deals with the ladies and love, and all that comes with those throughout the “Summer Woes” project. Like the Summer, he brings some heat here, and listeners will relate to some of the episodes in his life that he shares in the lyrics. Released through Sound Ting, the project features Iotosh on the production that taps into Dancehall, Pop, and R&B sounds, with guest appearances by Zac Jone$ and Royal Blu on a couple tracks. Kyraxx may not release music as often as his peers, but he makes it a moment when he does. Summer in the Autumn time.

The name Nordia Mothersille has been showing up in the Jamaican music scene for a number of years, and has been highly praised. She has been making the necessary moves to develop her sound, made appearances on a number of tracks, released her own music, and even became a GRAMMY-certified Songwriter. Under the tutelage of Producer Notnice, she has been working towards her big moment. What’s that moment? The release of her debut EP, “Broken Child“.

Consisting of 7 tracks, Nordia Mothersille takes on a new stage with the release of the “Broken Child” EP. She shares songs about love, heartbreak, overcoming battles, and her dreams, and she puts her best foot forward in delivering this project. She has thrilled many over the years with her vocals, and Notnice compliments them well with his production throughout. Chronic Law is the EP’s only guest feature, and he delivered as he should. Nordia Mothersille is ready for bigger leagues and arenas, and those who haven’t been familiar, will know of her game pretty soon.

The 2000s in Dancehall Music was an era that can never be duplicated. There were local and International crossovers, the ascension of Deejays who went on to become legends, and lots of good vibes and energy. It was in the mid 2000s that the world warmed up to a young Producer by the name of Stephen McGregor. The son of the legendary Freddie McGregor was determined to carve his own path in music, and the determination won. When he got his start, there was no stopping him, and he made hits with everyone. From Mavado, to Vybz Kartel, to Laden, to Agent Sasco, to Nicky B, to his brother Chino McGregor, the world got familiar to the sounds of “Di Genius“. There’s a lot of history in that Big Ship Studio. The years that followed saw a shift in the music Industry as MP3s and CDs soon gave way to Digital Music Streaming, and a number of those Di Genius hits never crossed over. In 2024, after lots of work, Stephen has made it a reality with the release of “The Recovered Files” album.

Featuring 20 classic tracks, Di Genius restored some of our favourites from the 2000s on “The Recovered Files” compilation album. We get music from a Vybz Kartel who was in heading into a new level of prime, a young Aidonia who was venomous on a Riddim, Chino who found his pocket and cruised over his brother’s productions, the rise of the “Gully Gad” Mavado, a young firecracker that was Blak Ryno, and more. Fans will fall in love with the “Darker Shadow Riddim“, recite some Gaza Commandments, reflect on their allegiances to Gaza, Gully, and J.O.P., and enjoy the work of Di Genius over and over on their favourite streaming platform. We believe “The Recovered Files” will be the start of a series of restorations and releases in the coming months, and with Di Genius at the helm, we know it will be a celebration every time.
