DJ Mac Debuts His “Ups & Downs” With New Album

Jamaican Producer DJ Mac has been one of the names who successfully permeated the music scene with a number of hit singles and Riddims. Almost all of your faves have voiced on one of his beats, and his catalogue continues to expand. This time around he doesn’t have a new Riddim to promote, he’s delivering his debut project, and it’s called, “Ups & Downs“.

The “Ups & Downs” album is DJ Mac’s first official project. Featuring 13 tracks, this is a compilation featuring something for everyone, and future hits. With the work he has put in over the years, he cashes in his collaboration tokens for a star-studded ensemble who make the most of the sounds he shares throughout, including some he co-produces with the likes of Keno4star, Crash Dummy, 1 Villain, ChinnaMan, KBeats, and Fuze. Joining in on Mac’s debut project are the likes of Valiant, Kranium, Chronic Law, Christopher Martin, Skippa, D’Yani, Jquan, Govana, Nigy Boy, Tielo Lanez, Ai Milly, Voice, Skillibeng, Shenseea, and Tommy Lee Sparta. DJ Mac aims for a global impact, and “Ups & Downs” may just make it happen sooner.

Dancehall Artist Skippa continues to extend his presence in the streets, and he has a lot in store. While the Deejay had some trouble with the Law earlier this year, it didn’t stop the fans from tuning in to his many releases, and anticipating for the next drop. Well, the next drop is here, and it comes in the form of a “4-Pac“.

Skippa’s new EP, “4-Pac” is just something to hold the people over, and a new collection to add to the library. The Deejay continues to share stories from the fast life he lives, further keeping his name hot on the scene. As usual, he does it for Granny, and listeners tune in to the tracks over production by Rich Together, Solitary Muzic, WhiteSquare Records, Chargie Records, Rich Talent, and Gogetta Music, with a guest appearance by Mani Sparta. The ladies love Bayka, and he loves them as well. They love him so much, they pretend to be in committed relationships with him. Parasocial relationships aside, the Deejay has made tracks that quickly became favourites for his Female fanbase. He continues to do so with the release of the “Gyal Dem Shift” EP.

Inspired by his 2022 hit single, “Gyal Dem Shift” is Bayka’s 3-track token of appreciation for the ladies. While he works on a full project, he holds them over with a few songs for the Summer. Released through Out Deh Records, production on the EP include Zimi Records, DJ Mac, and Rich Fingers while he enlists Dancehall Queen Spice through the inclusion of the crowd favourite, “Miss Pretty“. Packed with aggressive energy and raunchy vibes throughout, Bayka will continue to be a guilty pleasure for the ladies with this EP.

Since the inception of this platform in 2012, we’ve featured Jamaican Hip Hop. One of the acts who lead the charge with the genre was Rapper Five Steez. Active since the 2000s, he has inspired many to be a part of the culture, and attracted more eyes on the “First Coast“. 2025 still finds him putting out music, and earlier he premiered the new EP, “The Test Of Time“.

Done in collaboration with Canadian DJ/Producer Son Raw and a follow up to their “RE:DEFined” EP, “The Test Of Time” is Five Steez’s latest EP, and a testament to his longevity. Consisting of 4 tracks, we get an exhibition of a seasoned Hip Hop veteran who expertly handled well-crafted sample-based production. Steez shares his stories, his thoughts, his dedication, and continued focus throughout the project, and it will connect with the right people. Listeners who have followed Steez for a great length of time have witnessed his growth in the music, and will remember his early stages, and look forward to even more in his evolution. 4 tracks aren’t enough when it comes to Steez, so expect another roll out later this year. The Kingston-based Recording Artist born Tristen Escoffery has maintained a presence ever since his 2021 breakthrough single, “Imperfection”, and continues to quiet the naysayers with his hit-making prowess. His melodic delivery paired with solid songwriting has made him a stand out, and whether he’s making music for the streets or the ladies, his catalogue’s value increases, along with his growing global following. The 2020s found him not only conquering the charts and streams with singles like “Journey”, “Live N’ Learn”, “Gyal Thief”, “Wild N Rich”, “Bad Gyal”, but selling out events locally and Internationally, scoring brand deals in Corporate Jamaica, and becoming a sex symbol for his Female audience. Featuring 16 tracks, 450 has offered plenty for the old and new listeners, and an appeal for major International reach. The album covers high moments and times of struggle, provides motivation, flexes some storytelling, and showcases the growth of  450. The Tru Ambassador team of Jahvy, Weekday, and Falconn are onboard for the album’s production along with IconixBeatz and Delroy Williams, while UK’s Stefflon Don is the sole guest feature.
