Elephant Man Gives Us Retro Vibes With “Bad Gyal” Single

Shizzle, Summer 2024 is about to sizzle! Dancehall Artist Elephant Man is bringing the energy this season, and he has a lot in store for the people. Earlier this month, the Deejay released a new EP called, “Back To Basic“. The project features a number of dance-ready tunes, and a vibe that only the “Energy God” can provide. One song in particular that will make its round is the single, “Bad Gyal“.

Produced by Energy God Productions, Elephant Man aims for the ladies with “Bad Gyal”. Tapping into some retro vibes, Ele takes a journey back to 2003 to revisit the “Coolie Dance Riddim“, and to 1980 to revisit the legendary band Queen’sAnother One Bites The Dust“. For those unfamiliar, the “Coolie Dance Riddim” was produced by Skatta and Eva Burrell, and Ele scored 3 hits off of the Riddim namely, “Head Gawn“, “Genie Dance“, and “Jook Gal” that took off Internationally with US Rappers Twista and Young Bloodz, and Dancehall Artist Kiprich. “Bad Gyal” finds Ele in one of his sexual escapades here as he encounters a Woman who gets a dose of his energy, and she can’t get enough. The Deejay borrows the cadence of the Queen hit single to share his adventure, and the production will take listeners back to the early 2000s. Another track to make the people dance, and another selection as Elephant Man kicks off Summer 2024.

Rygin King "Recovery" Album on 13thStreetPromotions.com #Jamaica #Dancehall #Music #13thStreetPromotions #RyginKing #Recovery #Firm #RyginTrapRecords #Caribbean #RecoveryAlbum

Rygin King Yearns For Full Recovery, But Holding “Firm”

Over the past weekend, Dancehall Artist Rygin King released his latest album, “Recovery“. The album is another body of work that finds the Deejay being vulnerable during some of his trying times, along with music that sheds light on the other things going on his life. It follows up the 2022 “Therapy” album, and it picks up right where that album left off. With plenty of good music to enjoy, “Firm” is one of the stand out tracks on the album.

Produced by Rygin Trap Records, Rygin King lets it out on, “Firm”. He shares the pain he goes through since becoming paralyzed, his yearning to walk again, his experiences with people who don’t mean him well, his need for better days for him and his family, and a lot more. King has his share of pain, depression, and frustrations, and the Studio has been a haven for him to take some of the burden off. Through it all, he has become an inspiration for those going through their own tough times, and has used his platform to help others with similar fates. “Recovery” is a journey, and we still believe that better days are ahead for Rygin King.

Roland Alphonso & Beverley's All Stars "Song For My Father" on 13thStreetPromotions.com #Jamaica #Jazz #Ska #Music #13thStreetPromotions #RolandAlphonso #SongForMyFather #HoraceSilverQuintet #1967 #FathersDay #LeslieKong #BeverleysRecords #BeverleysAllStars #Caribbean

OLDIES SUNDAY: Roland Alphonso – Song For My Father (1967)

Today (June 16) is recognized worldwide as “Father’s Day“. We appreciate the Men who understood the role they’re given, and have done their best in that department. For today’s Oldies Sunday selection, we pay tribute to them with Musician Roland Alphonso’sSong For My Father“.

Produced by Leslie Kong along with Roland Alphonso and Beverley’s All Stars and released through Beverley’s Records in 1967, “Song For My Father” was Alphonso’s Ska version of the Horace Silver Quintet’s 1965 Jazz composition. The Jamaican version gives it a different kind of life, and opened it up for a different audience to appreciate. The original version according to Horace Silver was inspired by Brazilian music from a trip there, and Cape Verdean Portuguese Folk Music that his Father listened to. The Instrumental was a tribute to his Father and his love for the music, and the Jamaican version paid tribute to Jamaican Fathers. Alphonso’s version was one of many covers made, and was well-received by listeners over the years.

Whether you’re a Father, StepFather, Uncle, Grandfather, Godfather, Papa, Papi, Pop, Dada, big up yourself on this Father’s Day. Check out our “The Fathers Of Reggae/DancehallPlaylist from a few years ago.

Vincy Mas is really right around the corner, and if you haven’t been preparing, then you better make something happen before it’s too late. With new music dropping frequently, we expect patrons to give their all on the road this season. With that said, Vincy Artist Ozarie Matthews drops a new single called, “Shut Up“.

Produced by Karbon Jamz on the “Road Tribute Riddim” and released through Hunttaflow Production, Ozarie calls out the chatterboxes, the tattletales, and the mouth a massy types in “Shut Up”. He shares that he has no tolerance for those who like to gossip and spread news, and he simply wants them to stay far from him, and be quiet. No matter what’s the discussion, if it’s no progressive, he has no time for it. Over production that’s influenced by the traditional Soca sound, we can expect the people to dance away to “Shut Up”, while avoiding the gossip. Ready for Vincy Mas?

.@OfficialYaksta Shares Harsh Realities In “Walk Inside My Shoes”

Recording Artist Yaksta has a lot to say, and this time around, he’s not holding back. There’s a saying that goes, “Before you criticize someone, walk a mile in their shoes“, and Yaksta wants to talk about that on, “Walk Inside My Shoes“.

Produced by Leadazz Production and Bush Music, Yaksta has been feeling some ways lately, and he shares some harsh realities in “Walk Inside My Shoes”. In a world where pocket watching and people watching happen more frequently, we don’t know the stories behind the lifestyle and success of many out there. We don’t know how they got that opportunity to travel, we don’t know what goes on behind closed doors of that happy marriage, and we don’t know if that person’s wealth was made ethically. Yaksta sheds a light on the other side of those smiles, and emphasizes that if you’ve never lived their lives, don’t act like you know all about it. Many of them have issues, so mind your business. Gossip plays heavily into a lot of these pocket and people watching activities, and the Artist is calling out those who practice them. Comparison is the thief of joy, don’t follow the crowd.
