With Vybz Kartel seeing life in prison, many members of the music fraternity expressed their thoughts on the situation. Twin of Twins however expressed that Kartel was used as a scapegoat and they went on Onstage to further expound on that and more. Here they spoke about violence in Jamaica, the justice system, encouraging the media to promote positive things and stop bashing Dancehall music, and their new project which includes an extension of their “Stir It Up” series. Not a bad interview here, the twins have always spoken out against many things that happen in society whether in interviews or through their mixtape, and encouraging upliftment of the people. Bringing their views to the Jamaica Gleaner youtube series are Patrick and Paul Gaynor otherwise known as Twin of Twins. Here they speak on the recent Anti-Gang laws that were proposed and how society and Dancehall music differ when it comes to political divide, crime and violence. The “Blame Game” has been played many times and the twins urge that should be anymore pointing of fingers, making Dancehall music the scapegoat and more unity and betterment of music and society. They also speak on how Dancehall practices the “Supply and Demand” rule when it comes to making music and also the “Jamaica has no gun factory” argument. A good watch here as these deejays display how intelligent they are and are more than just hitmakers. Check out the video below and share your thoughts in the comments section.
Today’s new music comes from the dynamic duo of Twin of Twins. Titled “Tessanne“, the twins revisit the sound bite from Tessanne Chin on The Voice where she highlighted that Jamaica has the worst roads. With this in mind, the twins asks Tessanne to address all the other problems that country is facing. With her new star power already affecting the country (the budget for new roads was found just hours after her comment was made), it wouldn’t hurt if Tessanne heard this and did her thing. Love this song and the twins never failed so far. Check out the song below and share your thoughts in the comments section.
