Jada Kingdom Channels Damian Marley For “Still Searching” Video

A few weeks ago, Dancehall Artist Jada Kingdom released her latest project, “Just A Girl In A Money Man’s World“, and her people are loving it. The collaboration with Di Genius makes way for even more releases, but Jada is focusing on pushing the project to more bases. One of the project’s popular tracks, “Still Searching“, gets the music video treatment.

Directed by Rizzy for Now Or Never, Jada Kingdom channels Damian “Junior Gong” Marley in the video for “Still Searching”. Having sampled the original Yami Bolo-featured 2001 classic, Jada takes it a step further by recreating the original music video as a part of paying tribute. Junior Gong’s original was featured on his 2001 GRAMMY-winning album, “Halfway Tree“. Jada’s video makes for one of the stand out visuals this year, and we look forward to even more content in support of “Just A Girl”.

Elephant Man Brings The Energy To “Hill & Gully” With “Hold Him Gyal”

Over the weekend, the legendary Stephen “Di Genius” McGregor premiered the first installment in his new “Hill & Gully Riddim” called, “Slip & Slide” by Masicka. The Riddim taps into Jamaica’s Folk Music and Mento culture, paying homage, while making something new at the same time. While we knew “Slip & Slide” was going to do some damage, we anticipated for Dancehall Icon Elephant Man, who hinted that he was working with Di Genius. Today, we get the premiere of, “Hold Him Gyal“.

Directed by King Simeon Di Great, Elephant Man takes it to the farmland in the video for, “Hold Him Gyal”. From Donkey riding, to overalls, to tending to the crops, we’re taken back to simpler times, but with that modern vibes, and the Women putting on their best moves, all powered by the “Energy God” and Di Genius. “Hold Him Gyal” shares inspiration from the popular Folk Song, “Hold Him Joe“, and it is fitting with the concept of the Riddim. We even got some duppy, Jonkunnu, and our traditional Plaid in the mix! The “Hill & Gully Riddim” is growing in presence, and with Valiant and Ayetian onboard, this compilation is gonna be another one for the books, and promote more of our rich culture. Ele is as busy as ever thanks to consistent bookings, and if you’re in Atlanta this May, you can catch him on the ReggaeFest Tour. Poco Man Skank to this one.

Witty Continues The Rock Dancehall Agenda With “Friday Night”

The Rock Dancehall agenda continues to grow legs, and Witty is adding to it today. Having gone viral with his own Rock-tinged Dancehall releases, we believe he should keep it up in this lane, and add to the diversity of Jamaican music. He continues to rock on with, “Friday Night“.

In a video directed by Bussweh Visuals (Xhan Shot It with the graphics), Witty brings the energy in, “Friday Night”. Borrowing Pop Star Katy Perry’sLast Friday Night“, the Deejay drops lyrics about having wild times with the ladies, partying it up, and of course all the ingredients that make up the fast life. The video features appearances by Social Media Personality Big Trap, Recording Artist Alanys OG, Jamaican Rock Musician Brother Martell, and Prince Pine (if you know the original Prince Pine & Fatskull videos, you know this appearance is a great one). For those who jeered when Witty was trying to find his footing, make sure you give him that support now, because he’s on his way to a major breakout, and with co-signs from some of the best in the business, it’s no longer farfetched.
