The night of Thursday, January 25 was one for celebration as popular Entertainment platform The Fix hosted their 10 year anniversary event. Held at The Cove Restaurant & Bar in Kingston, the event was attended by friends, fans, Entertainers, and players in the Entertainment Industry. Hosted by MC Badda Bling of Di Unit, the trio of Ari Hammond, Naro Hart, and Javz Martin took centerstage enjoying all the love, being greeted by various individuals who witnessed their early days, to now them being one of the top names in Caribbean Entertainment. Along with the anniversary event, the other highlight was a Live Podcast where The Fix interviewed Dancehall Icon, Bounty Killa.

There were laughs, questions, memories, and joyful noises throughout the night, and The Fix trio along with Bounty Killa made it one for the books. If you missed out on the event, don’t worry as we have some highlights. The full Live Podcast will be released soon, so you can get your “Fix“. Congrats to The Fix on their 10th anniversary. Here’s to 10 more, and continue to create History. Look out for their “Welcome To Trinibad” Documentary later this year.

Truvi Wants To “Hypnotize” You With Her New Video

Last year, US-based Recording Artist Truvi released her EP, “Sunspots“. The EP has been making its way to listeners via popular music streaming platforms, and the Singer has been sharing it with her audience through live performances. Keeping up with promotion on the EP for this year, she recently released the music video for the track, “Hypnotize“.

Directed by Daniel Muñoz, Truvi is cooking up something special for her lover in “Hypnotize”. She shares her feelings for someone, and in order to make him hers, she’s working on a few ways to lure him in, and make their union a reality. Some would say she wants to “tie him“, but she’ll say she “hypnotized” him. The video plays with the song title as you can see the room spinning, Truvi playing around with a necklace (or a pocket watch)  that is commonly used when performing Hypnosis, her drawing a spiral, and mixing up a “Love Potion” so she can have him wrapped around her finger. We know some viewers would suggest she prepare him some Stew Peas, but maybe in another video. Let Truvi whisk you away with her soothing vocals, and check out her “Sunspots EP”.

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and some will be feeling the love this year. While the stores are putting out options for you to give your lover, nothing beats that music that will be played, and being played in the name of love. For others, they’re missing a love that’s either far away, or no longer a part of their life in one way or another. Today, we present to you a song that will hit you in a good way. Get familiar with Reggae Artist Ras-I’s “Days & Months“.

Produced by Haze St.Dub for DubShot Records, Ras-I speaks about a love that is very dear to him on “Days & Months”. Despite distance and naysayers, it’s when he’s close to his love that everything is alright. Many will relate to the lyrics, and will definitely be in their feels. Accompanying the single, is a music video directed by Birhan Tonge, and it finds Ras-I with his love interest connecting with each other in different settings. Dancehall Music has always had its share of feuds and drama since its inception. What can happen out of the conflict are either great songs, flopped careers, a boost in profile, or a resolution where both parties make amends for the better. The mid to late 2000s saw the rise of the Portmore Empire/Gaza, Gullyside, The Alliance, and J.O.P. (now 4th Genna) camps, all headed by Vybz Kartel, Mavado, Bounty Killa, and Aidonia respectively. There was turmoil, with each camp having some form of beef. In one episode, Aidonia and Vybz Kartel started beefing, pitting their camps against each other. Today that beef is long gone, and we see Aidonia joining forces with Notnice, once a top Producer for Portmore Empire, to release the single, “Bottles“.

“Bottles” is a celebration of life and good times, with Aidonia for the first time recording over production by Notnice. Over a revamped version of the classic “Street Vybz Riddim” that was released in 2010, we’re popping bottles, living it up with friends, and building a vibe like no other “when bad song a drop“. The “Street Vybz Riddim” got new life at the end of 2023 with Chronic Law’s “Weekend“, and now Aidonia captains the Ship to make it one of the hottest Riddims for 2024. Fans will be taken back to the days of a very dominant Aidonia and his J.O.P. cohorts, and the times when Notnice was everywhere. We look forward to hearing more from this pairing, and who have been recruited to voice on the Riddim (Alkaline has been rumoured to be next up). Sometimes beef can end on a good note. J.O.P.!

Recording Artist Blvk H3ro is still on a mission to become a global phenomenon. He has been making great progress over the years, and he is putting in the work through music releases, and connecting with the people through live performances and collaborations. For every Artist, the important thing is creating something that stands the test of time. For H3ro, he wants to “Leave A Mark“.

With a video directed by Efé, Blvk H3ro is all about leaving a legacy in “Leave A Mark”. His focus has climbed a few levels, and no form of obstacles will stop his drive. Over production by Dennis “Greatest” Hamilton for Greatest Records, H3ro can be seen recording the track in the booth, interacting with his peers in the Studio, and giving us a street performance of the track in the streets of Los Angeles. Blvk H3ro made some noise in 2023 with the release of the “On A Mission” album, and looks to make even more strides this year. Will this be the year he releases something that could put his name, and “Grammy-winning” in the same sentence come 2025? Only time will tell. In the meantime, he’s building his legacy.

Dancehall Artist Pablo YG is set to have a very busy year. He already released a few singles, announced an upcoming EP, and looks to tour overseas for the early part of the year. With so much on the table, it can get a bit stressful. To nip that stress in the bud, it’s best to take some time off to relax. Pablo did just that in the video for the single, “Siddung“.

Becoming the next Artist to tackle Rvssian’s “Dutty Money Riddim“, Pablo YG is authorized to get the ladies in the mood with his “Siddung” single. In the KhingCam-directed clip, Pablo gets in touch with nature, and a few ladies, and the vibes and heat are up a few notches. The ladies were never shy in showing viewers their dazzling moves, and the “Dutty Money Riddim” provided the perfect sound for this fun time. What a way to unwind. Expect a lot more from Pablo YG this year.
