OLDIES SUNDAY – @FutureFambo – Kung Fu (1994)

Today’s Oldies Sunday selection requires you to only dance, not practice your chops and kicks. The selection comes from Dancehall Artist Future Troubles a.k.a. Future Fambo. Titled “Kung Fu” and produced by Roof International in 1994, we hear Future instructing listeners to do the Kung Fu Dance and aim to make it a staple at parties. In a time when new dances were being created, this was a hot single for the artist and created a buzz for him in the streets.

After “Kung Fu“, Fambo went on to create many more singles over the years, and changed his image and name from Future Troubles to Fambo to Future Fambo. He has gained a few more hits as well including “Drunken Dance“, “WTF (Swaggin’)” with Tifa, and Wayne Marshall, “Rum & Redbull” with Beenie Man, and “Bloodclaat Song“. No info on if he has ever performed it in recent years, but many listeners can recall when he broke out with “Kung Fu” in 1994.

Thank You Fambo for the big tune!
