Nile SNL Follows Up With New Single, “Mumma”

Recording Artist Nile SNL is back at it again with new music. Having gained some viral love from the previously released, “Poem Of Chop“, he looks to keep the vibe going, and possibly secure more than viral attention. He was making the necessary moves to spoil his Woman on the last single, now he’s at odds with her in, “Mumma“.

Produced by Overyard Production, Nile SNL wants peace, and to be in good graces with his Woman in “Mumma”. Nile shares a couple situations that have happened, but could be facing the chopping block if he doesn’t act right by his Woman. The track is accompanied by a Music Video directed by Brownland Pictures, and we can expect “Mumma” to get some good attention in the coming weeks. Relationships have their times, and some of them can be very challenging. Be careful out there.

Haitian-American Recording Artist Fridayy has been putting in the work. The GRAMMY-nominated Singer has been a part of Gold and Platinum-selling projects, and has proven his worth in the music scene. This time around, he looks to raise the temperature with the new single, “Baddest In The Room“.

Co-Produced with MOMBRU, Fridayy has his eyes on a Woman who stands out in “Baddest In The Room”. Tapping into some Island vibes on the production, Fridayy comes through with some smooth vocals, and this will have the ladies dancing away in their favourite outfit and drink all year. Even when there are a Million baddies in the room, he only has his sights set on you. The Singer is working on the follow up to his 2023 self-titled debut album, and you can expect to hear him on even more releases in the coming months. The Month of June is recognized as “Caribbean American Heritage Month“, and on “Oldies Sunday“, we want to highlight a few Artists who are a part of this. Today’s selection comes from the Dominican-American Bachata band Aventura with the single, “Obsesión“.

Produced by Franklin Romero and released through Premium Latin Music in 2002, “Obsesión” was Aventura’s lead single off of their 2nd official album, “We Broke The Rules“. The track is about a Man who likes a Woman, but it is not of love, and it has gone to the point of obsession. The smooth production compliments the vocals provided by the duo of Lead Vocalist Romeo Santos, and Singer Judy Santos, and was sung in Spanish. “Obsesión” became a hit for Aventura, topping charts in Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, and Switzerland, and selling Gold in Austria, Platinum in Belgium, Germany, and Italy, and Diamond in France. The track helped to break barriers, modernizing the Bachata sound. An English version of “Obsesión” was featured on “We Broke The Rules” along with an EP featuring various remixes followed in 2002. A Radio remix was released in 2004. It was also covered by the likes of Frankie J, 3rd Wish, and Tropical Family.

Since the release of “Obsesión”, Aventura (consisting of Romeo, Henry, Max, and Lenny Santos) went on to become the “Kings of Modern Bachata“, and becoming the first major Bachata band to have originated in the US (The Bronx, New York). Lead Vocalist Romeo Santos went on to have a very successful Music career, and has reunited and performed with the band a number of times over the years. The band has also released more albums and singles over the years, and they’re currently promoting their latest single, “Brindo Con Agua“, which was released in April 2024. They are recognized during “Caribbean American Heritage Month” for their Dominican (and Puerto Rican via Romeo’s Mother) background. “Obsesión” is still played and loved to this day.

TRKSTR Taps Into Hyperpop With “Mercy”

When you see the name “Jamaica“, your mind thinks of Dancehall and Reggae Music, among other things. Over the decades however, Jamaica has been a place for various musical genres like R&B/Soul, Hip Hop, Pop, Funk, Jazz, various forms of Rock, Afrobeats, Soca, Disco Music, and many others. Newcomer TRKSTR looks to create a new lane in Jamaican music with Hyperpop, EmoRock, AltHipHop, and Alternative sounds. With a few releases out, he is on a journey to become one of the local pioneers, but open even more doors. He recently released the single, “Mercy“.

The self-produced “Mercy” was released through TRKSTR Records, and it finds TRKSTR dealing with love. He shares that he has feelings for someone close, and while it may be possible for them to be more than friends, he shares how he feels when she’s around, when she’s away from him, and it being a crime that she isn’t his. The song features some melodic and rapping deliveries, with a production that is sure to catch the listener’s attention. The Hyperpop wave has been growing since its inception in the 2010s, and may catch on in the coming years in some parts of the Caribbean. TRKSTR looks to keep the momentum going with more Hyperpop releases in the future, and he has high hopes for “Mercy”. Tune in.

Elephant Man Gives Us Retro Vibes With “Bad Gyal” Single

Shizzle, Summer 2024 is about to sizzle! Dancehall Artist Elephant Man is bringing the energy this season, and he has a lot in store for the people. Earlier this month, the Deejay released a new EP called, “Back To Basic“. The project features a number of dance-ready tunes, and a vibe that only the “Energy God” can provide. One song in particular that will make its round is the single, “Bad Gyal“.

Produced by Energy God Productions, Elephant Man aims for the ladies with “Bad Gyal”. Tapping into some retro vibes, Ele takes a journey back to 2003 to revisit the “Coolie Dance Riddim“, and to 1980 to revisit the legendary band Queen’s “Another One Bites The Dust“. For those unfamiliar, the “Coolie Dance Riddim” was produced by Skatta and Eva Burrell, and Ele scored 3 hits off of the Riddim namely, “Head Gawn“, “Genie Dance“, and “Jook Gal” that took off Internationally with US Rappers Twista and Young Bloodz, and Dancehall Artist Kiprich. “Bad Gyal” finds Ele in one of his sexual escapades here as he encounters a Woman who gets a dose of his energy, and she can’t get enough. The Deejay borrows the cadence of the Queen hit single to share his adventure, and the production will take listeners back to the early 2000s. Another track to make the people dance, and another selection as Elephant Man kicks off Summer 2024.
