Chronic Law Deals With “Fame” In New Single

For some, Fame is an open door for great opportunities. For others, it’s the beginning of problems. Dancehall Artist Chronic Law has been famous for quite some time, and his following continues to grow over time. While it has helped him achieve a success that he never had before, there are times he wishes he could enjoy a normal life again. He speaks on this and more on, “Fame“.

Produced by Disaster Music and Iconix Beatz, Chronic Law deals with what comes with being famous in, “Fame”. He has his moments where he wants to enjoy a normal life, he sees what fame does to people around him, and being the kind of person he is, he has to be more cautious due to his status. On a lighter side, fame has given him plenty opportunities to see a world outside of Jamaica, including a recent trip to the United States for the first time. “Fada Dark” looks to make even more advances in his career, but he still has to be on guard as fame has developed its share of junkies who would do anything for fame, and those who don’t mean the Deejay well. New York-based Rapper/Educator Chip Fu of the legendary Fu-Schnickens is making a return to the music in a major way. Having taken himself away from the limelight for quite some time, and is returning to the scene with new energy. With a new EP on the way, he’s gearing up with, “Like Us“.

Co-Produced with Bird On The Beat Productions, Chip Fu returns to the scene with an ode to the Boom Bap era. Kicking off a crazy series of flows, the MC takes listeners back to the days when FU-Schnickens shook the world with their unique sound, and Chip is keeping the fire burning. Accompanying the track is a Music Video directed by Owlman Productions, and it finds Chip exhibiting that style that makes him an MC who went toe to toe with the best of them. The video also previewed a follow up track, and paid homage to his Trini and Bajan background. Chip Fu looks to make bold statements when he drops his “Invisible Foot Steps” EP in October, and will feature a Dancehall track with NBA legend/Rapper/Personality Shaquille O’Neal. Nile SNL Premieres 6 New Tracks

Nile SNL continues to keep people talking this time around. The year has been good to him thanks to gaining viral success on Social Media, and he looks to take it up a notch with the work ethic. He hasn’t reached the level he needs to be, but he’s working on it. Recently, he premiered 6 brand new tracks.

In an effort to keep the radar on him, Nile SNL shared 6 new tracks that further showcases his talent. He remixed Skillibeng’s “Short Skirt“, goesa lil Emo, a lil Rock on “Chaya“, aims for the ladies with “Marigold“, “Antidote“, “Simple Maths“, and “I Love You“. Nile delivers something for every taste, but he’s not stopping there. Stay tuned for even more from him later this year.

Elephant Man Set @BarclaysCenter On Fire At Sold-Out Event

Over the weekend (August 31), the “Energy God” Elephant Man sent a musical charge through New York as he took over the Barclays Center in Brooklyn for a performance. A headliner at the latest staging of the Reggae Fest event series, Ele gave the people what they wanted, great music, a reason to let that stress go, and an all-around good time. The Deejay shared the stage with his Daughter Haley, and patrons sang and danced along to the hits from the 2000s to recent years.

Before closing however, Elephant Man shouted out Dancehall Artist Ding Dong, as they weren’t close for a number of years, but a reunion was made moments later, that promoted an Instagram post from Ding the following morning. Backstage, Ele caught up with fellow entertainers Aidonia, Govana, Dexta Daps, and Wayne Wonder, and hilariously held a “Cologne Shootout” with Aidonia. The Deejay is currently promoting the singles, “Work Out”, “Bad Gyal”, “Dancing School”, and “Forever Dance”, and they’re out now on all digital music streaming platforms.

OLDIES SUNDAY: Mr. Easy – Drive Me Crazy (2001)

There are hits, and then there are smash hit singles. Sometimes we don’t know how to differentiate the two, but time has a way of showing us. This Artist can say he has a smash hit single, as it has transcended decades, and still feels like a new song. Today’s “Oldies Sunday” selection comes from Dancehall/Reggae Singer Mr. Easy, and his track, “Drive Me Crazy“.

Produced by Tony “CD” Kelly on the “Buy Out Riddim” and released through the K-Licious label in 2001, Mr. Easy is in a dilemma in “Drive Me Crazy”. He shares the stress, and the feeling of being bamboozled as the Woman who he has been investing his time in, is not the person who he think she is, but she is pregnant with his child. The song is a reality for many who think they have an ideal partner, but once the veil is lifted, they see a whole different person. Despite his troubles, Mr. Easy found success with “Drive Me Crazy”, and it was one of the more popular singles off of the “Buy Out Riddim” when it was released. Ultimately, it became his signature single, and was later remixed by Recording Artist Kevin Lyttle in 2004, and sampled by Haitian Compas Band T-Vice in 2008.

Since the release of “Drive Me Crazy”, Mr. Easy went on to enjoy a successful career that found him scoring local and International careers. He still tours, helps to develop upcoming Artists, and still gives people good vibes when he performs “Drive Me Crazy”.
