Jamaican born/St. Lucia based Label Owner/Entrepreneur/Producer Iraqi “Carrzilla” Carr is always ready to level. The founder of The Carrzilla Effect is always at the forefront when it comes music, and has used his platform to highlight upcoming and top billed acts. This year, he looks to shake things up with his first Riddim release since 2023 called, the “Fire Stick Riddim”. He aims to have the public talking about, and he enlists one of Jamaica’s top Lyricists for the first single.
Kicking off the first phase of musical domination for the year, Carrziila looks to capture the public’s attention with spicy releases from the “Fire Stick Riddim”. A follow up to 2023’s “Fret Not Riddim”, the new Riddim comprises of raw percussion and accompanying sounds that pair well with strong lyrics, and The Carrzilla Effect has a lineup that is guaranteed to make waves. To start things off, Dancehall Artist Kacique is called up for the Riddim’s first single, “Old Firestick”. Kacique has a track record of delivering songs that instantly grab the attention of the ladies, and with the song drawing inspiration from the Caribbean proverb, “Ole fire stick easy fi ketch”, “Old Firestick” plays like a Man who knows the right buttons to press on a former lover to get the best of her. The Deejay gives his signature energy throughout the track, with the intention to keep the single busy all year round in the streets, and in the streams. A music video featuring an appearance by prominent Video Vixen Zho is set to premiere on March 7, ahead of the Riddim Compilation’s official release later this month.
“I strongly believe in harmony being the sixth sense, and it is used a lot when it comes to making music” shared Carrzilla. “The ‘Fire Stick Riddim’ comes from a dedication to creating the right sound to go well with the current music atmosphere. Picking the right Artists for the Riddim was carefully done, but having Kacique onboard made sense as he possesses a superb songwriting ability, solid melodies, and has a knack for crafting relatable lyrics that fit any production that’s thrown at him. ‘Old Firestick’ is the label’s first single for the ladies, and we’re ready for the world with this Riddim. We look forward to the support that will come.”
Carrzilla’s “Fire Stick Riddim” will be officially released this month through The Carrzilla Effect, while the video for “Old Fire Stick” is out now.
