Recently, it was announced that Dancehall Artist Popcaan was granted a US Visa after not having one for well over a decade. He quickly followed up with a trip back to the states, where he reconnected with friends and family. Despite the new developments, Canada is one of the places that still has its doors open for him, and he continues to have affiliations, and secure more collaborations. His latest includes, “Drum & Bass“.

Produced by Frantisek Sulc and Dylan Hyde and featuring OVO affiliate TVGucci, Popcaan delivers something for the ladies with “Drum & Bass”. Expect this collaboration to be much-requested by the ladies at the Brunch, and this is the start of a lot more of “International Popcaan” now that he is free in the US streets. They say the youth will lead the way in music, and young Recording Artist Kairo Mclean is already committed for the task. The youngest Juno Awards winner continues to build his career, and catch the ears of new listeners, and even legends. He steps out with “Fire Blaze (Sandokhan)“.

Produced by Ras Jammy for Suns of Dub and mixed by the legendary Scientist, Kairo Mclean brings a scorcher with the new track, “Fire Blaze”. Handling the production like a veteran, he blazes a fire that those who study evil and corruption cannot escape. He tramples Babylon while the Congo Drums play, and gives us a selection that is sure to blare through many speakers. A solid release here, and is the first release off of Kairo’s upcoming “The Scorcher” EP. For those unfamiliar with Kairo Mclean, today that will change. Blaze it up!

When you have dreams, you just want to achieve them. For some of us, we have to work towards those dreams, and by work, some of us have to get a job. That dream career or life is waiting for us, so we have to work long hours, sometimes at places we don’t want to, just to get us the capital to go forth. For Nigerian-Canadian Artist Fikky Baddman, he wants to live the kind of life that eliminates his need for a regular job. He wants to leave the “9-5” world.

Produced by Dope, Fikky Baddman has dreams to achieve, and needs to escape the Hamster wheel to have financial freedom in, “9-5”. Known for Afrobeats sounds, he borrows some Dancehall vibes for his new single. He shares his struggles as he builds on his dreams, but is determined to make it as he believes success is his for the taking, and trusts on Jah to guide him through it all. Fikky Baddman has been doing music for some time, and has extended his talents to event hosting, and Content Creation. While some of us are putting in the hours in the workplace, Fikky awaits the day he can call out for the final time.

LTL Gives Us Dancehall-Disco Vibes With “BNB”

They say Jamaicans are nuff, and to be honest, it’s an understatement. Over the years, there have been collaborations and fusions with International music genres, and now Dancehall Music has extended a branch for more fusions. Canada-based group LTL, known for their viral single “Dagga Riddim“, are now diversifying their sound. This time around, they tap into an older music genre for their new single, “BNB“.

Produced by Jojo You Made That, LTL mixes Dancehall and Disco on the new single, “BNB”, The group, consisting of One Don, Yung 2nuff, Topman Meeko, Erin B, and Enzooo, all bring the energy here for a single aimed at the ladies. While the “Disco” sound isn’t the sound from the 70s, it’s a more modern vibe that could bring out the Disco ball, bell bottom pants, big hair, and high heel steppers to the dance floor. The production reminds me of the theme song for “That’s So Raven” or even Drake’s “Cheetah Print”, but it’s energetic, and gels well with the lyrics the Artists bring forth. Another example of Jamaicans making music that’s beyond the usual genres, and scoring big with them. Expect a Disco-themed music video in the future. And for the record, there were Jamaicans recording Disco Music like Jesse Green, Carl Douglas, and Lorna Bennett.

Shema & DJ Blkluos Groove With “Lunch For Two”

It’s the Summer for love, and Canada’s DJ Blkluos along with Toronto-Ugandan Recording Artist Shema are providing the soundtrack. Just like the power of love, you need a powerful sound that keeps hearts pounding, and the streets rocking. They groove with the release of, “Lunch For Two“.

While DJ Blkluos handles the Afrobeats/R&B sound for the production, Shema amplifies the excitement that comes with romance with, “Lunch For Two”. The Summer is one for lovers, and the duo taps into that feeling associated with new love, exciting moments, and that undeniable intimate bond. Shema’s voice pairs well with the production, and you will be dancing along to this one. The single is accompanied by a Visualizer directed by Powell Clubega, and Shema is seen getting close with his love interest. The Afrobeats sound looks to light up the season, and DJ Blkluos and Shema are doing their part to securing their place.
