.@DiGenius1 Shares The Drama In Relationships In “Bigger Than Bun”

Relationships are great, but can be the worst thing ever when there is disloyalty. It doesn’t matter the circumstance, when a partner experiences “bun” or cheating, it’s not a good feeling. Some may take it in stride, others will react in ways that can get very bad. Nobody deserves to be betrayed. Speaking of “bun”, Stephen “Di Genius” McGregor sheds light on the topic in, “Bigger Than Bun“.

Di Genius has been consistent these past few months providing songs that are relatable and entertaining, and recently he tackled the topic of cheating in, “Bigger Than Bun”. The claim is nobody is exempt from being cheated on. No matter how loyal someone says they are, no matter how effort is given for the relationship, there are some pretty messed up people in the world who are weak to every beck and call, and just don’t believe in staying faithful to one partner. The title serves as something to know, even the richest person in the world can’t stop his partner from stepping out of the relationship. Di Genius follows up the single with a Music Video directed by Rizzy for Now Or Never, and we see the drama unfold throughout. Is that a sample from Monica’sAngel Of Mine” I hear? Di Genius has been on a roll with the content this year, let’s see what’s next. Protect your heart.

Tommy Lee Sparta & @TrippieRedd Bring The Horror In “Murderer”

When you think about it, Tommy Lee Sparta and US Rapper Trippie Redd need to make a project together. With a couple collaborations out, they show that they can make music that brings their fanbases together. With this month being “Spooky Season“, they drop the video for their new collab called, “Murderer“.

Directed by DJuvii for Now Or Never, Tommy Lee Sparta and Trippie Redd bring the badness in the video for, “Murderer”. The dark visual is filled with guns and Women, and this is a different kind of Island trip for Trippie Redd. “Murderer” was previewed recently, and fans of the Artists could not wait for the collab to finally drop. Tommy Lee is definitely no stranger to working with Rappers, and he further seals his International connections. We really need them to drop a project together (and we say that while still waiting on the Sparta Boss to release an all-Rock project). Big 1400 and the Spartan King meet again.

Malabre Takes His Talents From The Studio, To The Kitchen In Canada

When you’re a part of the Music business, one would say it’s an opportunity for something great, but when you gain success from it, it’s a blessing. Everyday there is a new Artist somewhere trying to hone their skills, or trying to get signed or given a “buss“. For St. Elizabeth-born/Canada-based Recording Artist Malabre, he got the opportunity to be in the music industry, and benefited as a Recording Artist, and as a Label owner/Producer for his South Syndicate Muzik. Having worked with a number of upcoming and established acts over the years, he branched off into the world of TikTok where he would share his views on happenings in the Entertainment industry along with sharing his music, and quickly he became one of the voices of reason on the Jamaican side of the platform. Recently, he further extended his talents to the Kitchen with the launch of the Caribbean Food establishment, “Simply Jamaican“.

Opened on September 12 in the Etobicoke area in Ontario, Canada, Malabre established “Simply Jamaican” as the place where the food does the talking as opposed to him speaking through his music and Social Media platforms. The family-run Restaurant was inspired by his upbringing in Jamaica, as his family was devoted to creating well-loved meals for the household, and with family members even setting up businesses throughout the Island over the years to varied success. Malabre’s experiences in Canada’s local and imported cuisine further spurned his interest in launching his own Restaurant, and being more hands on in ensuring that the food he grew up on, was made available for the locals in Etobicoke, and surrounding areas with high quality and top tier authenticity. Since opening, “Simply Jamaican” has been gaining a tremendous amount of support, with fellow Social Media Personalities showing up for dining, and supporters of Malabre keeping him and his work unit busy through orders via the DoorDash and Uber Eats platforms. While the Studio may be calling him, it will have to be on a temporary hold as he takes care of communities with home-style meals, and Caribbean vibes. If you’re nearby, support “Simply Jamaican” today at 20 Lockport Ave. Etobicoke M8Z 2R7, or call +1 437-928-6643. You can also follow “Simply Jamaican” on Instagram and TikTok at @SimplyJamaicanToronto.

OLDIES SUNDAY: Little Roy – Columbus Ship (1981)

Every year around this time for the past few years, we aim to put down the name of the once-famed Italian Explorer, Christopher Columbus. Whether through playing music that spoke against him, renaming locations that once shared his name, and getting rid of statues made in his likeness, people are doing more to put down a wicked Man who has been celebrated for so long. Tomorrow (Oct. 13) is celebrated as “Indigenous Peoples’ Day” in North America, which was originally “Columbus Day“, and we salute the original natives. Today’s “Oldies Sunday” selection comes from Little Roy, and we check out, “Columbus Ship“.

Released through Tafari/Copasetic in 1981, Little Roy sheds light on the experience of the Black Man during Slavery in, “Columbus Ship”. The song speaks on his experience from being held in captivity against his will, taken to new lands on a Ship belonging to Christopher Columbus, and being forced to slave on Plantations, and suffer through it all. The song is just one of many that pulled the wool from over the vision of the people who idolized figures who exploited nations, oppressed people of colour, and committed various crimes of Humanity. “Columbus Ship” was featured on Little Roy’s 1981 album of the same name, and was well-received by listeners over the years.

Since the release of “Columbus Ship”, Little Roy continued to have a successful music career, releasing more music, and performing on stages around the world. He is still active in some parts of the World, where tracks like “Columbus Ship” is still played to this day. Happy Indigenous Peoples’ Day when it comes.

Thank You Little Roy For This Tune!
