Kyng Tavii has been creating for a long time. Many remember the Teenager who made numerous Comedy skits online with his friends, and they’ve enjoyed the content and watched his popularity grow on Youtube, Social Media, and even on TV. He has elevated his game since, and has expanded with music, and soon, Short Films. Today, we look at the music as he starts the new year with, “Di Yout Dem Shun“.

Produced by UGYN Music, Kyng Tavii reflects on his journey, admires the position he is at now, and embraces what’s to come next in, “Di Yout Dem Shun”. The song showcases a young Man who had to overcome a lot to get where he is now, looks back at the doubters, and celebrates his achievements. But his story isn’t over, as he has a lot more to conquer. He considers himself a King, and he’s aiming to rule his lane with all that he has created. Tavii has been releasing Music for a number of years, and this year we might get a project from him. OLDIES SUNDAY: Bunny General – Full Up A Class (1992)

Music is made every day, a style is created every other day, and classics are made on rare occasions. On today’s “Oldies Sunday” segment, we highlight a Man who was a part of a style that influenced many, and delivered a classic single. We go back to the 90s to check out Bunny General’s “Full Up A Class“.

Produced and released by Fashion Records in 1992 on the “Fever Pitch Riddim“, Bunny General was in show off mode on, “Full Up A Class”. The “bigger boss” stepped out with a flow that was on Usain Bolt levels of speed, and aimed to stand out in a growing Dancehall scene. With his speedy flow, he was lapping his competitors, and joined a small number of Deejays who could deliver in the same manner. The lyrics weren’t far off as Bunny sent shots at those who thought they could step to him, but shouted out the people who understood being above the rest in and out of the Dancehall arena. “Full Up A Class” quickly became a popular tune for Bunny General, and was featured in a number of compilation albums.

For a number of years, Bunny General showcased that he was a Deejay who could stand up to any challenge, and dominate any Riddim that was thrown his way. Since the release of “Full Up A Class”, he went on to release more music, and is still active today through various live performance bookings. “Full Up a Class” is still played around the world, with many requesting for him to take the Microphone and deliver like the General he is.

For Dancehall crooner Nigy Boy, who has been on the scene for a number of years, he enjoyed his biggest year in music. He started off the year strong, secured degrees and accolades, and ended it on a high. We commend Nigy’s ascension, and we highlight his best year with a new Playlist.

We invite you to tune in to a display of an Artist who never let his disability hinder him from success, became the “Most Improved Player“, and he has a lot more to conquer. With Nigy Boy’s knack for delivering tunes about being the Ladies Man, “The Blind Casanova” Playlist highlights his 2024 hits that definitely built his female fanbase, and shines a spotlight on his songwriting skills. It’s the final “Oldies Sunday” post of 2024! Firstly, thanks for the support of this segment, and we look forward to producing more come 2025. With New Year’s Day around the corner, we see it fit give you something in recognition of the upcoming day. We go back to nearly 50 years ago with The Mighty Clouds Band’s “Syne Dub“.

Released through the Mid-Night and Black Ark Sound labels in 1975, “Syne Dub” was an Instrumental release for The Mighty Clouds Band. The track was a dub version of the popular “Auld Lang Syne” New Year’s Day song, and the b-side to Reggae Singer Leon Hyatt’s song of the same name. The mix of Percussion, Horns, Keys, and Bass come together well, and will put all the listeners in a dancing vibe throughout. Sometimes all you need is the Riddim to get you going.

Yannick Paul Shares A Life Changing Story On “Kvrtel CD”

For those who know, and those who don’t, Dancehall Artist Vybz Kartel will be launching his highly-anticipated “Freedom Street” Concert next week. With the year he and his fans have been experiencing, 2024 will be ending in a big way. For people like Gospel Artist Yannick Paul, he remembers the days when he would be front and center for the latest single from the Deejay. Life has changed since then, but he wants to share a story about his “Kvrtel CD“.

The story starts off in 2005 where a young Yannick Paul discovers a Vybz Kartel mixtape at a friend’s house. He would then steal it, and the story continues with him enjoying content from, and becoming a fan of a Dancehall Artist who would gradually become one of Jamaica’s top acts. During that time, Yannick was dealing with having a music career of his own, and a life that wasn’t Christlike. He admits that the music made an influence on his life then, and the same can be said for others, but things began to shift for him over the years, and life as a Christian took over, putting the Kartel music and influence on the back burner. He closes off his song with a message to Vybz Kartel, with the hopes that he gives a welcoming ear to it. “Kvrtel CD” is the follow up to “November“, which shares Yannick’s life changing story that happened over 10 years ago. 2025 will find him continuing to spread the word.
