While Stoners united on 4/20, Recording Artist Leno Banton says everyday is 4/20 with “Ganja Phenomenon“. Produced by SNR, the “Ganja baby of the Original Ganja Baby” delivers a smoker’s anthem detailing the quality of herb he prefers, and makes a call for the Ganja Man over a very trippy production. “It is a joy to share THC with my brethren in these times of Gideon,” says Blvk H3ro, “this project aims to satisfy the craving for upliftment and higher meds at this moment in our story”.
This eclectic collection of next-generation Jamaican music is released one year after the decriminalization of Ganja in Jamaica, but after decades of oppression for those defiant of the regime.

The THC Project will be officially released at Nanook, 20 Burlington Avenue, on April 20 (4/20) along with the exciting music video for ‘Herb’.
When it comes to the herbs, it’s all about the right specimen and today Chronixx and Jahkime speak on it in their visual for “Perfect Tree“. Directed by AllEyesOnIt, we get a little lecture from the “Odd Ras” then Jahkime joins him later to kick off lyrics over an old school Hip Hop production (Blackstar x Common’s “Respiration”). Off the “Roots and Chalice” Mixtape it’s time to roll one up, check out the video below and share your thoughts in the comments section.
Today’s Oldies Sunday selection is dedicated to the hustlers. We go back to the early 80’s with the late Sugar Minott. Titled “Herbman Hustling” and produced by Sly & Robbie for the Taxi Records in 1984. The song speaks on the day to day experiences of the Marijuana merchant including dealing with the law, and sourcing the best product. Minott’s delivery in this single puts the listener in a first person perspective (and possibly catch a contact high) over the smooth Sly & Robbie production.
It’s all about the herbs today with NRG a.k.a. Rseenal Di Artillery, Makonnen and Iyah Gift in their new visual. Titled “What Kinda Herbs“. and directed by Yosef Imagination, we see the artists feature the herbs in various processes from being reaped on a farm, to being packaged, to being distributed. They also speak on its uses and benefits and promotes that it should be free for everyone to use in everyday life. Great visual, and lovers of the herb can see it in all its glory here. Free di weed!
